(Slightly OT) Pics of my new NAV receiver

Featured Replies

I have received today the photos I took of my new NAV receiver (the one I bought for 2 euro :) ). Here you are...This is the complete unit, working (without antenna, as I don't have it and don't know what to use):http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3db7e12a6af3d2fa.jpgThis is the unit disassembled;http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3db7e14a6b3e0bb1.jpgThis is the back of the unit. You can see the antenna connector, and the power/speaker connection. You can also see the battery plug I soldered to bring current to the unit :) !!!http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3db7e1606b984372.jpgDo you believe me now? ;-)Cristian

Ahhh that helps a lot...I'll see if I can find some info.As for the Antenna,VOR receivers use a dipole type, can either bea pair of 'Blade type' antenna as illustrated here,(basically the 'loop' type Antenna covered over),http://www.seaerospace.com/comant/ci120gs.htma pair of loop antenna as illustrated here, http://www.seaerospace.com/comant/ci205-1.htmor a single dipole, usually fitted to light a/c, as illustrated herehttp://www.seaerospace.com/comant/ci157p.htmHope this helps,( you'll see there's some 'techie' stuff on thesepages about the VSWR and impedances of the Antenna too) :-):-wavePete
