What to do in FU3?

Well after playing the FU series since FU2 came out I don't know how many years ago (I belive FU2 came out in 1997...), I'm starting to run out of ideas of what to do in the sim :-lolI think I've tried everything there is to do :(I have mastered all the planes. I can even land the fokker without it tipping over when braking.I can land in virtually zero-visibility, on the smallest of runways with the most severe crosswind.I have landed on every major bridge, fotball field, race-track, hangar, volcano, alien spaceship, aircraft carrier etc. in the entire west-coast it seems :-lolSo what's left to do other than fly from A to B? I tried working some with FLED but I got bored pretty quickly.Any really good suggestions? :)

I'm not really one for messing around in flight simulators, so all of those "fun" things that some people find so amusing do not personally interest me. What makes FU3 so enjoyable to me is the random nature of the AI planes, which makes landing and departing at tower controlled airports a totally unique experience every time. Maybe the eventual release of Ansgar's "improved" 747 will provide something of a new challenge ?Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Hi JimmiG,It sounds like you can land about anywhere, Have you tried landing on the dome? South of the city of Seattle. I've never been much of a power user of FU3...after seeing some of the screens above, i don't know if I can call myself a "user" at all ;)Most of my "serious" flying is done in FS2k2 nowadays (and it looks like the next version may be starting to catch up with FU3 in the dynamic weather department). But I still fire up FU3, randomize some VFR weather, and pick up my quick flight from where I left off the last time (maybe choose a new ride too) - And then I fly around until I find what looks like a good 'port land. And while flying around, I view with amazement the hi-res landscape. To this day it blows my mind...I may not use FU3 as much anymore, but it will be my benchmark for raw sim enjoyment for a long time to come.Come to think of it, I don't remember ever making a trip to that carrier...-hoo

Hi Allan,Was a winged gauntlet thrown onto the parking ramp?You didn't layout the parameters you used for your landing, so I kind of winged it. This is fair weather.wsd, collisions on, gear damage on, invulernable off, prop auto, electricals fail off, engine torque off. Used full flaps. Took 3 passes. More attempts to go to get dead center on top of the dome.My wind direction instrumentation wouldn't work. Window wouldn't roll down, and was flying too fast to get a good reading when I was able to finally stick my wet finger out. Got her down safely though. Well, if you're looking for (mental) adventure, try building an aircraft!I did - it was harowing at first but very enjoyable overall and I'm glad I did it :-)We have a few masterpieces now that weren't available when FU3 shipped and flying any of these is generally more enjoyable than the originals!Just pick a plane you'd like to see, then choose an existing aircraft (preferably original LGS) with a similar configuration (taildragger/trigear, single/twin engine etc) and get to it! All the software you need is available free (legally too!) and between the helpful souls here at the forums, every question you could ever have can be answered.Go on, give it a go :-)Jon Point*************************(effyouthree@hotmail.com)*************************

Hi juvat2,was a winged gountlet thrown onto the Parking ramp? :-lolNo just having fun, Looks like you got fairly close to being stopped on the top. It took me awhile to get the hang of this. You actually need to land on the side of it, full flaps, right at the stall speed, Just before you hit pull up the nose and add power, (to save the gear) as soon as your on it, hit the brakes and take the flaps off. Jimmi,If you've already finished all the jobs/adventures in FU2 and FU3, and need more to do, we've got bush flying jobs. Hi, Jimmi. Nowadays, I'm flying FS2002 more than FU3. But, and this is a big BUT, from time to time, I fire up FU3, jump into my beloved Trainer, set up a rainy weather, and take off; this helps me re-calibrate my sense of flightsimming, if you know what I mean :)
