This is just to launch a thread to get feedback on Gatwick airport. If you find problems, let me know so I can fix them. Esp missing textures - its probably best to load the package into FLED first since FLED givesyou feedback on what's wrong, FU3 doesn't.But I hope nothings wrong ...

OK, that'll teach me to be patient.I've only given it a quick once-over so far and it looks very impressive, but there are a couple of things worth noting.Firstly, I don't know what you've done to poor Glidernut's hanger but it's looking like the graffiti artists have been in. Most likely it's a palette problem as it looks the same when I go back to Heathrow. Would this also explain the blue fire-truck?Secondly, could you upload the terrain elevation and classification files you used? At the moment the only way to get around is with the Renegade...I'll give it a more thorough look over tomorrow and try to give you some more detailed feedback but for now it's looking good.Cheers,Rich.

OK, I'll fix Glidernut's hangar for next release. You can do this yourself by unzipping fresh copies of hang10.mip, t_hang10.mip, hangs.mip and hangc.mip from your HTR3.zip (Heathrow) file into your regionsUK-SouthGEN folder - I had them right there! And sincere apologies to poor Glidernut, I didn't mean to scramble yourhangar! Please forgive me.I will upload the terrain classification file as an inclusion in the final version. You can still see what it will look like using GliderNut's method - grab an object (any object) in FLED, move it a bit to make sure you have it, then click on the terrain away from any objects. That should reset all models to zero height. But it will mess up the moving models - they will be floating way over your head in space ... (well 200 feet up anyway).Or if you like, and agtim doesn't mind, I could upload those now. I will try to do this.

OK, done. Let me know if this solves the problems. Thanks Rich. For others - you need both the Gatwick scenery and the scenery elevation detail now. These will be combined in the final version.

I just wanted to inform people that who gets the Update 3, will have the already-fixed elevation and classification... And will also have the missing mip files, already in the /Gen folder!I'm downloading Gatwick now, will report when I've tested it!Cristian

Sory fore takeing so long to report on Gatwick. The trooth of the mater is I for got all about wat I was serposed to be dooing and I got carid away driving up and doun that ramp.Iv been up and doun that ramp so meny times my stemme has divelopt a yo yo complex.Any way back to werk.I can fined no fallt with Gatwick, apart from my (gliding school),and that,s fixt. And Andre,s terrain hight works a treet. But Gatwick crashes me to the desktop at night time.Day time is OK.Heathrow is OK, day or night. And the most lit up plases in Seattle & Sanfran are OK, day or night.so its only Gatwick at night that crashes me to the desktop.I menshon this more out of interest than reporting a bug at Gatwick. Its not a bug at Gatwick.I have a 3.08 GHz PCwith 512 MB of RAMGeForce4 MX 440 with all its setings at max.and all setings in options at max.Frame rates at Gatwick are 20 to 35.I also have this line in my cfg file.model_detail_scale 1000.0This line enabels me to see the full detail of Jon Point,s 54 treesfrom so far away that thy disapeer bifor loosing any detail at all.Without this line, Gatwick is OK at any time, day or night.Interesting?glidernut. :-wave

Hello John! How about the weather settings for the UK-scenery.Do you get some response for Lift/hang settings as SEA region??I would like to know because I am one of those old gliderpilot's,and the weather setting for FU3 is the best I've seen so far.Best Regards.Lars Peter.

Thanks Rob, that did the trick for the ground. I've given the model a good look round and I'm very impressed. I've flown from Gatwick more times than I care to recall and I can only see two problems. If you check this photo: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/290930/L/ you'll see that the North Terminal extends east past gate 49 (where the Delta MD-11 is parked), around the corner to the front of gate 48 (Delta 767), and that air bridges extend to 47 and 46 (I normally fly from gate 47 or 48).The other problem is that you've barricaded the South Terminal satellite with noise barriers. There's no way for Virgin, Northwest or US Airways to get their planes out :-)The only other thing that I'd like to see is some aircraft at the gates, but that's a minor concern.Cheers,Rich.

>I would like to know because I am one of those old gliderpilot's,Lars Peter? let me think Lars Peter? Lars Peter? Are you that 44 yer old south east Norweegen bloke? Wat worked at a toolstore specialiseing in Fire equipment? And flys RC aircrafts since you was about 15?And flys full size gliders like the Bergfalke & Bergfalke 11 &Blanik & ASTIR at the Elverum flyklubb gliderclub and repairs and converts old classic cars?>"Yes thats me".No, sory, never herd of you.But as to slope Lift in the UK-South, there is sum Lift hear and therebut its not so strong, the hils are not so steep. But there is inuf lift, just. The UK-South is so big that a weather file will hardly cuver it.As fore setings, its a cace of suk it and see.glidernut, takeing up space agen :-wave

WEll,- both Glidernut, myself and many others are old veterans of the flight unlimited series and Fu3-Avsim. The best forum on the internet. To give you all some new information about the Sout-east Norway, I will here give you some newlinks to explain some more of what's happening. The project E-variometer recordings and video work, I did together with Glidernut/steffen Shiedeck, andAnsgar,(available in the Fu3 library) was made at this airport:http://www.nak.no/seilfly/From where I live there is only two minutes to the web.cam.You can find the camera here:http://www.trysil.com/IPX/?module=Articles...enFolder;ID=414To our local Bush airstrip you can see this here:http://home.no.net/osen/startside.index.htmSo that's the updates for now.Take care all.Lars Peter.:-wave

Lars Peter. Its good you menshon the english flag, cus I mist it the ferst time. But I see now where you made the vidiow fore FU3.I also understand that you are heavily involved with the management of your local aeroclub where you live.Jenaraly speeking gliding in the UK is not as good as elswhere, but the "midlands" which is the "Long Mynd gliding club" is one ofthe best. Its a flat platow on a mountan top, and when the wind is right you can have a bunge lornch off the edge directly into lift.Thats 8 men runing doun the hill puling a ruber rope atached to yourglider, and when thy can pull no more, the glider is releesed and is catapalted off the edge. The glider dus not go up, it gos out, sumtimes hardly manageing torowl off the edge.I have also flown hangliders off the same slop. Its my favorite gliding club as well.glidernut.:-wave

Glad you like the ramp! What you have said indicates that one of the night models has a bug.I hope to fix this for the next version. But very sorry about your hangar repaint. I blame Mike of course.
