These are even more off-topic than the others - as they don't even show any aircraft. Rich, I don't remember exactly the shutter and aperture settings - as I said these are the first shots with my new camera. Anyway, the lens was a Nikkor AF-G 70-300 zoom; I think it was set around 200mm. The exposure meter was set to Matrix, the camera was set to "Aperture priority". I think the aperture was at 5.6 and the shutter was around 1 second. The camera was obviously on a tripod, and I used a "single-measurement", centered auto-focus.The film was a Fuji NPH 400 Iso. The camera is a Nikon F80.But it was a lucky shot - I took three others that night with almost the same settings, and they didn't turn out so nice. Especially the black sky, didn't come out so "black".Your photo is really nice, too - but it's rather bluish... I prefer more "red" sunsets! :-) I always thought that sunRISES ought to look like that! ;-)By the way, how did you get such a deep depth of field? The near power tower (hm, what's it called?) is perfectly focused, as well as the horizon... I would have to close the aperture a lot to get such a deep field!And, where did you take that photo? :-)Cristian

Hi Cristian,I certainly don't remember what all the settings are myself, the camera is kind enough to embed that for me in the jpeg image header :-). As for the colour, well I don't have any filters (yet) so you got it as it appeared. I could always run it through Photoshop though. I've got a series of vivid red sunsets taken from a yacht last summer, they'll go up on my website when I eventually sort it out.Depth of field in this case is more of an illusion. I was at maximum zoom for that shot and with the fairly narrow aperture everthing further than 50m or so would be in sharp focus. The pylon in front was probably just on the inner limit of focus, reducing the image size seems to have brought it out a bit cleaner. The photo was taken from the gardens of the villa we rented outside of Anagni about a month ago now, looking down the valley.Rich.
