Bert,Don't suppose there is a set of straight-on shots of this? I HAVE a T6 model but I have no textures :-(Or, none worth using anyway! Jon,There may be another shot of it, I'll have to check. But nothing straight-on, no.Staggerwing is an excellent photographer, has a nice digital cam, and is able-bodied, unlike myself. Maybe we can get him to find a T-6 and get photos.I'm a decent photographer, but no digital cam (just an Olympus OM-2 35 mm), and able-bodied I am not. Jon,I just exchanged e-mail with Tom, the friend who took that pic. He lives right next door to Van Nuys airport. I told him what you need in the way of photographs, and asked him..."Are there any T-6 Texans parked anywhere around Van Nuys airport that you can get near? Especially a nice one, like that shiny one at Reno?"His simple quick answer was "yes". Now I don't know how nice a one he can find, but what do you need? Straight-on front, both sides... probably tail end? No above or below shots possible, of course. "Excuse me, sir, could you please flip your aircraft on its side?" :-lolLet me know what you want... and what about lighting? Full sun the best bet? Van Nuys is in the San Fernando Valley... sun is almost guaranteed. If it is only that shiny guy at Reno that you want, we're out of luck. But maybe almost any T-6? Bob,Yeah, straight-on, both sides. Close-ups of gear, engine, wing, tail and tailplane details - preferably taken at high res. Bright sunlight is good as long as the sun doesn't get into the camera. Otherwise, an overcast (but not raining) day is technically better (but we lose that beautiful blue tinge to the shine). Considering where the location is, bright sunlight will have to do.Some internal shots from the cockpit, showing the canopy frames would also be good. Better still, a set of left front, left, left rear, rear, right rear, right and right-front would be nice (but probably asking too much) ;)Maybe we'll have a T6 as well as a Twotter soon!:-waveJon Point*************************(effyouthree@hotmail.com)*************************

OK, Jon, I'll see what I can do. I doubt he can get any inside shots, but who knows? I'll pass on your requests to him.If you don't hear from me here for awhile, I might be fighting a dead computer. My Win2K installation is getting harder and harder to get running with every boot. I boot up, but the System Tray is empty except for the time, and the mouse cursor is an hourglass when over the Task Bar, but is the normal arrow when elsewhere. Regardless, clicking on anything doesn't work. I discovered that if I log out then back in again, it clears the problem. But that process generates a dialog box telling me that it's closing EXPLORER.EXE, which fails to respond. So I do an "End now", which allows the log-on to succeed. But tonight, while watching a DVD, my system locked. It did respond to a CTRL-ALT-DEL, which started the process I just explained. But this time the log-off/on didn't solve the problem... had to do it a second time, which succeeded. At this rate I expect it all to fail soon. So much for the wonders of Windows 2000 Pro. Win98 is useless, Win 2K is useless, I'm about to give up. Bob!Don't give up! Sounds like our HD is dying (mine did recently too). Go out and get a new one for $80-$100 and get the shop to copy your data across (but not the OS - reinstall that afresh).Also, when you are up and running (unlike I did), grab some CDs and take a copy of your entire FU3 folder (use Winzip or Winace to compact it).You see, just after I had restored my system, the PC's power supply blew up and destroyed the new HD :-( :-( As I had only backed up SOME things, I lost a lot of work and have even had to download my own GeeBee aircraft from Avsim again because I lost the entire project!The other possibility is crook RAM. Use 'memtest.exe' (search for it on the web) and run it overnight. I have fixed a few PCs this way - the users had been putting up with blank screens , lockups and other instabilities and after all, it was a $50 ram stick... And, as for OSs, I run W2K here and it is quite stable. I still use W98 at home, only because it is a little quicker on my PC than W2K. I tried XP too but again, on my PC, FU3 runs slower with it. W98 can get weird more often but it is 100% stable with my other software (games) so I leave it alone and put up with the odd restart. Jon,Well, here I am, alive for another day. This 120 gig Maxtor and the Win 2K installation are only a few months old. Now that doesn't mean it CAN'T be a bad drive, but I refuse to accept that right now. Stubborness of old age, plus I'm a Taurus. ;-)I have run memtest.exe, and it showed no problems. But... I ran it for only a little over an hour. To clear the possibility of bad RAM I should run it fully, all night. And also, to my great embarrassment, when building this system the RAM stick slipped out of the anti-stat bag (them things are slippery) and fell to the kitchen floor. :-roll No visible damage, but...?My post last night was not made in the best of moods. I'm well aware that many folks run Win 2K and even W98 with satisfaction. I really don't think it's me that's causing the trouble... my old W98 drive has loads of TSR junk on it, which could cause trouble, but this Win 2K drive is new and SHOULD be "spotless"... no extra garbage. Maybe I shouldn't expect perfection out of Windows, hm? Though my memory might not be accurate, I don't remember such trouble with Win 3.10, an "old friend". :-)Considering the supposed reliability of Win 2K, and that I've had similar problems in W98, I keep thinking "hardware, hardware, hardware..." And since problems occur with two different drives and OSes, I think I can possibly rule out the drives. This leaves... RAM. I'll have to do a full run of memtest. A lot of computers quit in the summer. The reason is that hardware components overheat and get damaged. What's the temperature in LA right now? If overheating ruins your computer the answer is to replace the damaged units and add more cooling fans. Prolonged use of sims and games is known to really raise the temperature and when you add this to sweltering heat...best regards,Hans Petter
