Twin Otter previews

Hi Folks!I've had a fairly creative Christmas break - the goodies will start rolling out as soon as I've ironed out the wrinkles. Here's some shots of the Twin Otter in two of the four(!) liveries it will be delivered with:Running out of oxygen at 11,000ft!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59881.jpgJust took off from Coupville and doubled back - climbs well, huh?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59883.jpgShort field performance is very good. Lehto Air using about half of Black Diamond!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59884.jpgLehto Air over Seattle.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59885.jpgClose uphttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59886.jpgStill have to finish the other liveries and the cockpit but it's almost done ;):-Wave******************* Jonathan Point *******************

I love it I love it I love it!!Sorry, I'll calm down. But I think these are the most beautiful planes. I need one of these to load up with fishing gear, head off to some deserted stream and spend a day there just vegging. And I hate fishing!RobD.

Thanks, Folks :-)I might actually finish the cockpit and release these two first. The 'D-IVER' livery actually uses a different 3D model (it has a roll-a-door instead of 'normal' double doors) and the Skybus one can be released as a livery update.Oh, there's also a 'Chinook Airlines' static model as well (it's intended to replace the grotty Chinook in the AI set whilst keeping the AI callsign valid).:-wave******************* Jonathan Point *******************

Jon,Ahh yes, the Chinook. That is another daft model that can be replaced when your Twin Otter is used as an AI plane.By the way, your Black Diamond airfield is out of date. There is a much better version in Seattle 2004 ;-)Chris Low.

Love this plane - low and slow is my kind of flying, and cold weather gives great lift!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60908.jpgLift off from Stansted - note terminals to right and approach lighting top left. Typical English weather. Easy to control the Otter, except that I cricked my neck trying to peer over the hump taxiing. This shouldn't be changed - it looks and feels correct, but I need a side window to stick my head out of.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60909.jpgLazy bank - hard to judge height flying in this weather and with instruments not quite IFR-rated yet. Sometimes hard to even tell if you are turning.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60910.jpgView outside during same bank. Look at that wing detail!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60911.jpgFlying low past local villages with a thunderstorm in distance.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60912.jpgOn a different theme, some railway stations now offer free commuter parking. I have parked my plane (no not the Otter this time - stop looking so horrified Jon) and decided to take the train. I don't think I'll change my mind. This is what happens when testflying new scenery.Great plane Jon!

Gee Rob, you let both cats, the dog and the mother-in-law out of the bag there :-lol Glad you like it ;)BTW folks, the real release will have a proper panel, this is just the pre-beta!As for the free parking, I'm not sure they'd look after my car/plane/dog. Are they insured? :-wave******************* Jonathan Point *******************
