This is about 3 months since we started. Its getting close now. Ideas and feedback would be appreciated.Note we have used complete over-texturing for the first time - i.e. we started with a higher resolution ground texture rather than add taxiways etc later. Framerate hit is quite low - mostly around 25% drop from free flight.RobD (for Andy and myself).

Guys,Again, it's wonderful ;)I have stalled slightly with my overtexturing because I am having real troubles flattening terrain. Kapowsin, Harvey and Ranger are all weird. For example, Kapowsin is FLAT but you'd think it's on the side of a hill leading UP to the lake. That ain't what the topo says ;) .Same goes for Harvey. At Ranger, the East side of the valley rises too close to the strip, although the mapping isn't quite right because the road IS closer to the strip. Problem is, the road/river/escarpment straddles a geotile and every time I try to flatten it, I destroy the entire range. Seems like they contracted the mapping to force the entire road onto the eastern geotile??!? Wow, it would be sooo nice just to get those textures extracted so I could edit them and make Ranger look 1000% better than M$F$.I know there's a pixel of overlap too, but when I deliberately leave that pixel-width free (not red), the next tile is still affected :-grrThis is why I stick to planes and models but I'd really like to make some real improvements to landscape features as well. So far, the only contribution I've made was the 'terrain detail' improvement, which whilst offering a great improvement to some of us, kills others' framerates too much :-( .:-wave******************* Jonathan Point *******************

Jon,Yes, the terrain textures at Ranger Creek certainly could do with resolution boost ;-)I am hoping that FU3 in general gets a real PERFORMANCE boost when my new PC is delivered. I have just ordered it, so hopefully it will arrive by the end of next week at the latest. I have also ordered a 128Mb ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card from a separate company (a bargain at
