Chris,I know what you mean! I keep on having close calls 'coz I'm testing the S340 with the radio turned down so I can concentrate on other things :-rollEvery now and then something gets real close. This was a small one but still would've ruined the test! Gotta turn the AI down while testing ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135965.jpgRegards,Jon Point"Don't worry, someday we'll look back on all this and plow into a mountain..."

Jon,I had a REAL close call with one of Ansgar's US Air Force KC10 tankers yesterday whilst cruising at 3000 feet between Sacramento Executive and Napa County in the Beechjet. I will post the screenshot that I took when I get home.Mind you, the two classiest "incidents" that I have ever experienced happened two or three years ago. One of these involved an actual COLLISION (at around 1500 feet) with one of the old default Boeing 777s (before they were converted to far nicer looking Dash 8s :-)). I had just taken off from runway 27R at Oakland International in my Beechjet, and switched to the Bay Approach frequency, requesting traffic advisories to San Jose International. I had just completed the left turn to head south, when I was advised that a 777 was at "3 o'clock, less than a mile".TOO LATE. I had enough time to look out of the side window and see a huge airliner smash into me ! I switched to F5 view, and watched the wreckage of my jet fall into the bay :-eekThe other "close approach" involved a P51 Mustang flashing past me in the opposite direction (somewhere near San Francisco International). It passed SO close, that my plane (a Beechcraft Baron) was tossed around in the wake turbulence !Chris Low.PS. Did you receive my e-mail (over two weeks ago) regarding the S340, and those bridges ?

You guys don't seem to realize what close is in FU3http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136052.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136053.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136054.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136055.jpgYou's also are missing the real feeling of being close to your other flight sim buddies in that other terrible Sim.It's a blast to fly with and talk to a group of pilot friends, and yes we get really close to each other sometimes, Up to the piont of removing wings :-lolhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136056.jpgHave Fun :-vuurAllan BFU Job Manager and Co-Moderatorand PuppyBush Flying Unlimitedhttp://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

Allan,Yes, but we weren't trying ;)This was close...I saw this AI DHC6 flying roughly parallel to me but a bit slower :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136078.jpgSo, I slowed down a bit to wave :-roll The freakshow was so busy telling his passengers to wave back, he turned right into me :-eekhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136080.jpgAlas, FU3 did a CTD at that moment so I didn't get to see the pieces fall...Regards,Jon PointGlide Distance: Half the distance from the airplane to the nearest landing spot...

Allan,Since you're showing your serious side, I thought I'd prove that developers do stupid things too. I found these in the archives:Close? Here, I put the TSS Earnslaw down perfectly between the cables and she was grinding to a halt (literally - propellers, rudder and all...)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136081.jpgThen, she started sliding towards the railing :-eekhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136082.jpgOh No! She's rolling...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136083.jpgIt's all over. The passengers get a brief view of the sky before plunging into the Bay. Another great flight ending in the bay :-rollhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136084.jpg:-lolRegards,Jon PointGlide Distance: Half the distance from the airplane to the nearest landing spot...

Chalk and cheese, Chris - chalk and cheese...Seeing those old AIs in Allan's shots reminded me of the 'old days' :-lolWhat was that - 2 years ago? Time flies (too) :-wave

Chris.I probably need a better computer before I could turn on all them extra things, filters and such.I only have this ole clunker so I have to make do with it.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136171.jpgVideo card probably isn't as good as yours either, It doesn't make FU3 look very nice compared to my old V5 card.I think the pics I posted came from from my ole 300 computer with a V3 card, http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136172.jpgHave Fun :-vuurAllan BFU Job Manager and Co-Moderatorand PuppyBush Flying Unlimitedhttp://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

Allan,I wouldn't say that a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 with a 128MB Radeon 9800 graphics card and 1GB of RAM could be considered to be an "old clunker". That specification is very similar to my own PC.Chris Low.

Allan,I was referring to old days, not yours. The "Earnslawgate" shots are years old - when my PC couldn't get good framerates and I had to reduce settings. All those nice GeeBee shots were done at ;)Nowadays, it's all systems 100%, although a good (bad?) storm can reduce me to 12fps :-wave
