where to go after recieveing taxi assistance

Featured Replies

after i copy my ifr to... and ask for taxi assistance and turn on taxi aid it seems to go round in circles u start at one place and end up bak where u started

Which airport? Sounds like there's a problem with the taxiways.Do you use ALT-F12 to highlight the taxiroute?

well i really only use airports that are quite big like olympia or paine field or sea tac int and i looked at the taxigraph on FLED for the airports and it didnt look as if it had anything wrong and yes i used the taxi aid(ALT+F12) to help me but it just starts and finishes at the same place and also when im half way through taxiing the ground controller tells me to taxi to parking and then doesnt say anything after that until i ask for taxi assistance again and then it all starts over

I wonder if you are making the wrong selection in the radio message menu. After you have requested IFR instructions, there should be FOUR options on the menu. You should be selecting option 1 at this point, but I suspect that you are using option 3.Am I correct ?

yes i was using option 3 but what option should i use after copying my ifr

You don't want taxi assistance after receiving your IFR instructions (this option is only required if you get lost whilst moving from the parking spot to the runway threshold). You need to be letting the ground controller know that you are ready for departure, where you want to go, and that you have listened to ATIS. You will be able to do this with option 1 !I can't remember exactly how the message is constructed, but just select "1" instead of "3", and you'll know what to do.
