Stemme S6T - Reloaded

Recommended Posts

Guest fu3

Hi Folks,At the suggestion of a few people, I have uploaded a set of Stemme S6Ts to the library, to save you the effort of having to update existing ones. These include all of the liveries (and one new one) and have the updated crash models. These new resfiles should replace all existing S6T versions that you have ;) In any case, the filenames are different, to avoid confusion - the new resfiles start with "s6t2..."The original livery:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180571.jpgUK livery:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180572.jpgUS livery - Red:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180573.jpgUS livery - Blue:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180574.jpgThe two US liveries share the same rego. Hey, you can't fly both at the same time :-lolRegards,Jon Point

Not sure what's happening here - the original didn't get reloaded and still shows up as Rev 1 in the library :-hmmmThe other three are fine...I'll re-upload it tonight. Or get Avsim to sort it out ;)Regards,Jon Point

Congrats again jon, brilliant work. The manual is very professional too with heaps of data, and I had no trouble flying it first time using your guidelines.

Offtopic. How do you get the sky to look so realistic so MSFS like. Better than my flying clouds, please share this secret for me.

Um er, no but YOU can do one! The high-res textures are in the S6T build files I uploaded to the Avsim library. You can modify them as you wish ;)If you don't want to go through the resize/repalette part, email the changed files to me and I'll create a set of textures and palette for you.BTW, Keep it mostly white. The carbon fibre doesn't like heat - hence why all CF gliders (and CF control surfaces on other planes) aren't painted - the white reflects the heat.Technically, I used a bit too much 'license' on the US ones and the red tailplane may have a shortened lifespan :-roll Regards,Jon Point

Colin,Its just of many weather files. Nasty in the South (rain, fog) but fairly clear elswhere with those nice high-alt wisps.Cricket Field (rain, fog)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181220.jpgAsplund (overcast)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181221.jpgLewis Creek (clear in the North)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181222.jpgHere's the weather file (in the zipfile below). Extract and copy to your weather folder. Start FU3 and look for a weather file starting with "Light clouds in the North...".Also, use Rob Driscoll's FLT3.CFG file (in the library) for better haze. Haze is really the trick that makes it all nice. I turned it down for the first few shots (haze slider just at the left of the "H" in Haze). This is the same place and time as the last shot, but with haze set just to the bottom-right of the "E" in Haze. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181223.jpgBIG difference, huh? In reality, the haze varies with many factors and I tend to use more rather than less as I seem to encounter a (heck of a) lot when I fly in real aircraft. Clear days are usually windy ones :-rollRegards,Jon Point

Very nice weather effects. So heat affects the carbon fibre, does it? I guess that explains why the tips of my wings fell off.And I thought it was the Baron I collided with!I think that there is something wrong with the sky colour setup in FU3 - there are many parameters to change, but usually there is a reddish tinge to either the low sky or the clouds. Mind you, my graphics card is not particularly good, so that might be a factor. But its hard to get pure white fluffies, blue sky and non-bushfire low level haze. I keep experimenting.Robert.

Rob,Yes, my attempts at getting good ol' Sydney Blue resulted in purple or green skies *:-*But yet there's the way that the ground is lit in the distance that makes it come alive. If I could get THAT close-up... :-rollRegards,Jon Point
