RV-9A page 46 is posted.

Like Larry said, the "95% done, 95% percent to go" feeling is setting in. The devil is in the details. Right now, it is countersinking holes in plexiglass and enlarging holes for rivets that will allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the plexiglass. You can see three new pictures here that show the present status of work:http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise4/rv9a046.htmJerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

As you can see, I have not posted anything new over the holiday weekend, so here are the updated pages with two new photos on page 46 and five new ones on page 47.http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise4/rv9a046.htmhttp://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise4/rv9a047.htmLewis, as always, I am trying to keep the number of photos under eight per page to make dial-up downloads a little better for you down there in the tropics. It has been a bit tropical around here for the past few days with temps in the high 80's and mid-90's with plenty of humidity and some rain from time to time. The lakes are all full between here and Atlanta. Some of you may have seen my posting in April about the peaceful passing of my mother after a long fatal illness. As executor of her estate, I have started to pay out the money per the will/trust documents. I now have the money to order the big ticket items for the RV-9A. My step-father wanted to buy me an airplane in 1991 before he died. He finally got his chance to do it this year, and it is going to be much better than anything made in a factory.Jerry K. I was not satisfied with the work done on July 5th, so I figured out a way to fix some mis-aligned holes and trim off excess material at the same time. You can see how I did it on the new page:http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise4/rv9a048.htmI feel much better about the fit and finish of the canopy to the fuselage aft skin.Jerry K. I took a day to visit my friend David Edgemon in the Huntsville, Alabama area today. He is painting his RV-9A at his shop at home. I have some pictures of his plane and painted pieces of his plane on the two new pages of my web site. You can jump right into the first new page right here:http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise5/dedgemon2.htmOr you can go to my main menu and look through my whole photo album of my project and all the other stuff I have been doing:http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise/index.htmIn case you missed the other posting:I have ordered my NEW engine - 8 weeks to get here.I have ordered the firewall forward kit and it has shipped.I have ordered the propeller - 14 weeks to get here. All those details are here:http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise4/rv9a048.htmJerry K. I got to brush up on my spray priming skills today and the weather was clear and warm, but not too windy. I even did some painting with my interior Pewter Gray color from one of three spray cans of paint that I bought some time ago. You can see two new pictures here.http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise5/rv9a049.htmJerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

I have added two new pictures to page 49 and that should be about it for that page. The work today was similar to yesterday, working on the RIGHT side of the canopy to secure things with screws and rivets. I also worked more on the "fit and finish" match of the AFT canopy skirts to the side skirts.http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise5/rv9a049.htmAnd of course, here is the meat of the posting: The firewall forward kit arrived. That is pretty much the plumbing and control cables that go with the engine. You will be seeing these things come out of storage boxes over the next months as work proceeds and the engine arrives, hopefully in September. The propeller will probably not show up until November.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN
