But NOOOOOO . . . Here's pictures of my new Corvette.I've never had a desire for a Corvette. I've got a '71 Camaro Z28.All I did was walk by to get donuts and coffee during an oil change on my pickup.I get a rather nice discount as a GM retiree. If you read my long-winded "history" to Luis, you know I worked on Vettes that went to France for the 24 hour race in the '70's, and didn't win. This is the commemorative model for the factory racing team C5-R ( Corvette generation five, racing ) that has won their class at LeMans the last two years. The color and stripes are from the 2003 racer. They also won this year, but the color was yellow. The Z06 model is $10k more than a regular Vette. Special top styling, lightweight glass, total titanium exhaust, all aluminum special engine, heads up display, F1 Supercar tires, etc., etc., to get the weight down to 3100 lbs. Comes only with the 405 hp engine, and a 6 speed trans.I live on a dirt road. Go figure.Picked up the car, and direct to down the "mountain twisties" on AZ89 to Kirkland Junction, and back up Irons Springs Road curves. Second day was up and over Mingus Mt. "twisties" to Jerome for dinner. Damn, I love heel and toe driving. My wife is great. She never whimpered once. That's Sullivan Butte in the background.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82837.jpgMy Lab mix "Sally" checks out the new arrival. Tires are safe ( female dog ).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82840.jpgHood emblem. The 24 hour Commemorative Edition option is another $4,335.Includes the special paint and stripes, carbon fiber hood, etc.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82841.jpgFront fender emblem. That's me reflected in the paint. You can't see my big grin.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82842.jpg

Luis,Older Cessna 172's go around 125 mph, the newer models can do better, but not much. As for the Cessna 182, it can get up around 160 mph. My RV-9A will go 194 mph on the same engine that pulls the Cessna 172 at 125 mph.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

Thanks Joe for the vanity plate URL. Much fun. Here's my current candidate for the Vette.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/83256.jpg1. The car is blue.2. Blew by you does make sense.3. But, the Porkster will immediately recognize the NASCAR race connected joke.Darryl Waltrip started it. As a car passed another for the race lead, Darryl said, "He pulled a Linda Rondstadt ! ! !".Blank looks from the broadcast crew.Darryl, "You know her song, Blue Bayou".Groan. :-rollMaybe a plate for my 1971 Z28 ? Oops, I already have one.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/83257.jpgThe real plate. The lady at DOT said, "pardon me, but I'm curious. Is 71 Z28 some kind of code?" :-rollhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/83258.jpg

Which is what I did today. I picked Penn Yan Aero Services to build my experiment engine similar to a Lycoming O-320-D1A for constant speed propeller. It will be built using mostly ECI parts with one Slick Magneto and one solid state ignition for 20% better fuel economy and easier starting. From Van's Aircraft: I placed the orders for the Hartzell propeller to match the engine, and also the firewall forward kit for all the accessories to go with the engine. That includes exhaust pipes, hoses, battery, solenoids, fuel components, oil filter, oil cooler, control cables, etc.Time frames for deliveries: Firewall forward kit delivers next week. The engine arrives in 8 weeks. The new propeller should be delivered in 14 weeks. Now to start thinking about electrical stuff and radio/radar parts.Jerry K.
