Oh,oh.................. Firewall Forward! I'd better hurry...But being realistic, I don't have a hangar, which makes final assembly tough. I can see next spring, maybe....And mostly what's left is that fiberglass work & I hate fiberglass!!But I finally got around to sealing the caps on the tanks. Pro-seal & no gaskets. They don't leak, considering I built the tanks about five years ago.In the meantime, here is an interesting set of pics from our EAA Chapter 23. It's a retired airline pilots first Harmon Rocket followed up by an even speedier F1 with 300HP engine. I've followed both projects during the years.http://www.etigerrr.com/Skypark/Loeber_Wayne.htmedit ---- P.S., I'm not the Larry in the pics

Larry,We had our local EAA chapter 150 meeting last night at Collegedale airport. The subject of hangar space came up. One of the guys said I could have bought an old biplane for $5,000 and got the hangar it was living in as part of the deal. The bipe would have been sold of course, and the space would have been mine. That seems to be the only way to get space at 3M3, buy an existing hangared airplane that is already there. There is a long waiting list there, but some who already have space have offered to share a hangar in order to have an experience builder there to help them with their projects. As for things to do, I have started to look at all things electrical and interiors. I am also getting Tugwell's easy opening canopy modification kit.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

Hello Jerry,Am I just imagining it, or does that tail scheme resemble a Star Fleet insignia? They both look good.Best regards.Luis

Luis,Funny you should mention that, because I was thinking about how to make an emblem that would be similar to, but not violate the Paramount copyrights on the origninal Star Trek emblem from the old Enterprise crew of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov, and Sulu. This is what resulted.http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise/index.htm#paintI think I have made enough changes to avoid a legal issue with Paramount, but we shall see.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

Hey! Artwork "B" has been changed! :-)So has my opinion. I like it, even with curved lines. http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/...y/xyxthumbs.gifThe previous "B" artwork was essentially the same as "A", but with the edge taken off. This version makes a statement.

http://www.avsim.com/other/usaribbon.gifBob "FlyBert" StilesAVSIM Moderator

"Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"~Richard Harvey, 1/21/2003

The custom Tennessee license plate I have on my car is:N2PRISEAnd before that, the custom Florida license plate on my car was:N2PRISEThe only number that even comes close to that and could be used on my airplane is:N2PZJerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

Now there are three paint schemes to evaluate. Check out the third one at the bottom of the page. I think I have solved the issue of stars crossing the gap between the vertical stabilizer and the rudder as well as staying away from trademark issues.http://home.earthlink.net/~n2prise#paintJerry K. Jerry,While the upward-pointing of the artwork in "B" implies "outer space" quite well, the forward-pointing of the artwork in "C" reinforces the feeling of speed, so therefore I like it the best.

http://www.avsim.com/other/usaribbon.gifBob "FlyBert" StilesAVSIM Moderator

"Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"~Richard Harvey, 1/21/2003

Bob,That was the feeling I got as well. I may tinker with it a bit more just to settle some issues in my mind. I will post the result when I am finished.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN

And I thought the Delta Airlines homage of design #1 was a nice touch.Doc Bryant(I still pine for "Herman")

Doc,It was Delta Airlines that prompted me to use the original "B" artwork for my first feedback. I admit I still am partial to "A" but there is that "TREK" influence that keeps nagging me. I am thinking about combining A and C into something that will come to me soon.I had one guy from California reply from another forum of RV builders that had made a very minor modification to my "A" tail. That was when I got the idea of combining parts of "C" with "A". I will keep you posted.Jerry K. ThorneEast Ridge, TN
