Breakfast on the farm

Recommended Posts

I always get up at daybreak. Here in the tropics, that means 6:00 A.M. except, fortunately, in the winter when I can sleep late because the sun rises at 7:00 A.M.!Breakfast is on the terrace facing the farm and the mountains towards the west. The house is on a ridge so the view is pretty nice (but it has been cloudy with rain for the last two months, so these pictures are not so nice.)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84236.jpgLet's see, from the left: mangos, bananas, tangerines (most definitely out of season), more varieties of mangos, and pineapples, all from the farm. We also have coconuts, avocados, cashews, guavas, etc. Also, on the table, my coffee and some bread and cookies. No, the bread and cookies are not for me.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84237.jpgAs soon as I step outside, my breakfast companions start to show up. They get the bread and cookies, and leave none for me. I have been hand-feeding these birds for years. Dad peacock eats out of my hand:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84238.jpgMom peahen also takes the cookies from me:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84239.jpgMy sweet dog is also present and she insists on getting her share, the largest. Her name is "Pure Love" or it should be. We find beautiful those we love, and to me, she is the most beautiful dog in the world.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84240.jpgShe loves big handsome Texans. So, Doc, could you please show this picture to Maynard and let me know if he wags his tail?Best regards.Luis

Luis,Looks to me those animals are living the good life. I wonder, do they let you know if breakfast isn't on time?Hmmmm....I'd like to give every piece of that fruit a try. Surely, those aren't the typical Chiquita Bananas and Dole Pineapples.I'm taking the liberty of posting an image of two good lookin' gals showing us a few of those Pineapples. I can't even imagine how good a homegrown Pineapple must taste.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/84300.jpgJoehttp://myweb.cableone.net/joesumralliii/hook5.gif

Brother Maynard believes that he and Pure Love are related. Although his coat is much longer than hers. And at last weigh in, Brother Maynard bounced the scales at 85 pounds.I do not know how he would react to the birds however. I fear he might believe them to be one of his food groups. And at nearly ten and a half years of age, he is quite steadfast in his ways and habits.Doc Bryant
