more New Jersey jokes

Doc is busy wining and dining, and otherwise enjoying life to the fullest, and has not had time to post the Short Finals. Far be it from me to appropriate this function, but I did notice the following snippet in a recent issue of AvWeb and found it moderately humorous,In New Jersey, meanwhile, the state tourism division paid an image consulting firm $260,000 to come up with a marketing slogan to attract vacationers. Acting Gov. Richard Codey rejected the firm's proposal -New Jersey: We'll Win You Over- because it implied the state has something to prove.Codey asked residents to propose their own ideas. (Breaking the thumbs of whoever wasted taxpayer money wasn't eligible.) The 6,000-plus entries will be winnowed, and residents will be able to vote on them. Most suggestions are serious, but many sound like a comedian's riff on the state's often-exaggerated reputation for pollution problems, crooked politicians, tough-guy attitude, high taxes and famous "bosses" Bruce Springsteen and Tony Soprano. Some of our favorites (at least the printable ones):New Jersey: What's it to you? We'll tax the #&!@ out of you. We're not as corrupt as we used to be. All payoffs gladly accepted here. It's not as bad as it smells. And, for anyone who has driven the state's famous Turnpike or the Garden State Parkway: Welcome to New Jersey - expect delays.Best regards.Luis
