A320 newbie; NAV/COM qq?

I've just acquired the Airbus Pro package (319/320). The manual is tru;y professional; ie, you need a week's work and some chalkboard sessions just to get started. Can someone tell me how to set up the NAV frequencies so I can do some ILS approaches. So far I can get the 319 into the air and 'round the houses but handflying it onto the runway has defeated me. Help appreciated.George(EGKA)

In order to do ILS approaches you must have the correct runway set in the F-PLAN page of the MCDU. So, for example let's suppose you are flying from EGPF (Glasgow) to EGKK (Gatwick) to land on runway 26L.To enter the arrival runway in to the MCU make sure you click the left line select key (LSK) at one of the paces shown in the next image:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181787.jpgThis will bring up the LAT REV (lateral revision) page where you then select Arrival:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181788.jpgYou then select the runway you are landing on, in this case 26L and then also the STAR for that runway:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181789.jpgOnce this is entered you can then confirm that it is properly entered into the navigation system by going to the RAD NAV page and looking at LSK3L:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181790.jpgDuring your descent below 10,000 ft you should have the ILS button on the glareshield pressed. This will put the ILS freq and (usually) the distance to the runway in the bottom left corner of the PFD.You should enter the approach info into the APPR page of the PERF screen of the MCDU (scroll through until you reach the right page). Then press the LOC and APPR buttons at the appropriate times and your ILS appraoch should work well. One thing you might notice is that the glideslope indicator is above the centre point on the PFD leading to a "glideslope glideslope" warning. This is a product of slightly poor coding in the transition from FS2002 to FS2004. You can overcome it by pressing (lots of times) the End key which adjusts the trim.If there is anything here you are not sure about please do come back to me. Thanks for a detailed briefing---the champagne is obviously the answer for us all and I'll give it a go. Oddly, in my flying days (I'm retired). we used to dial in the frequencies. Amazing thing, technological progress!!Best/George(EGKA)
