It might be worthwhile coming up with something along the lines of a batch file that could be used to somewhat automate the process.I started doing one but couldn't complete it due to not having all the products, if someone wants to continue it, it's attached.

Hi John,I installed the Effects folder last night from my T7 Backup DVD. But today I couldn't get the 'beast' to Autoland despite the Land3 sign? What does the LAND item do, it's on your list under Effects. It's not in my Effects Folder!Ken

Ken,Sorry to mislead. The full name is FX_PSS_LAND_light.fx and it is unique to the 757; its not required in the 777.Can you explain what was wrong with the autoland?John R

Hi John,The first time I used the T7 after entering the License Key, the flight and autoland was perfect. Later that day (Sunday) I realised I had not reinstalled the Effects Folder from my Backup DVD, so I did that. Then yesterday I made my routine flight EGLL to Larnaca, Cyprus (I'm a member of BAv VA). On Approach the T7 locked on the LLZ for Rwy 22, as the aircraft turned onto the Rwy heading I pressed the button on my Saitek X52 Joystick to lower the gear, at once the Autopilot locked up, except I was able to used the speed control button on the MCP, otherwise the AP system was locked. So I clicked on the Disengage bar bar and took over manual control (my years as a Radio Control Model Aircraft builder and flyer came in handy :) ) and landed. Later yesterday I flew a circuit EGLL to EGLL to test the Autoland again. As before the T7 established on the Localizer, Land3 came up on the Panel, however at approx. 800' the aircraft turned away from the Rwy heading and flew on past the Airport. I just shutdown fs9!I don't have a clue about what caused the problem; the only thing I did since the successful landing on Sunday was install the Effects folder. Having checked the contents of that folder I cannot see anything untoward? If it would help I could make a list of the contents for you?Ken

Ken,The 777 has only 3 effects files:fx_pss_fuel_jett.fxfx_pss_Startup.fxFX_PSS_VC_light.fxAlthough AP problems can sometimes be caused by display issues, I doubt whether the effects files are involved. You seem to have two separate problems:1. Height and heading modes freezing when you select other services. This is certainly a new one!2. AP losing loc signal for no apparent reason.Firstly, I would revert to where you were before the problem started and take out the relevant effects files and see if the autoland is ok. If this solves it, you need to look at the individual files. If not, re-install the effects then recheck the install particularly the PSS/777 folder for the following files:AP_control_coeffs.datclbperf.txtPanelConfig.datAlso look at the PSSB77704/panel folder for the correct pss_vars.XML files.Belt and braces but worth a check.Otherwise and as you have recovered from CTD problems, I would look at external inputs that might cause conflicts: NAVDATA, AFCADS, Add on scenery etc.Let me know how you get on.RegardsJohn

Hi John,Most of my FoldersFiles for the B777 are pretty much sorted. But I am puzzled about a couple of Folders = FS9PSS has the following, AirbusA3XX(Empty), Boeing 777, has the following=10 files including Fuel and Load Config, no problemsNAVDATA has the following, 8 Airac files dated 17/10/07 also Navdata Backup has 8 Airac files dated 29/09/07PSS containing another Navdata folder with another 8 Airac files dated 051107 = then a Routes folder contain my Flight Plans, no problem = then a Texture folder which is empty! lastly 4 files B772LR, .bmp, uni.dat, uni.ini, and uni.lng.Sorry that is a bit of a muddle...the first 2 attempts were a shambles :) It looks like I can delete the Airbus3XX and the Texure folders both empty. But do I need the 3 sets of Airac files?Ken

That's the most comprehensive list I have seen. When you have a minute let me know how you get a dump like that?In any case I will try and get your list as a "sticky" for the forum {before AVSIM take it off as I believe that these attachments only have a finite life}.John R

Ken,1. Delete the Airbus folder - I assume you had it at one time but now no longer use it.2. NavData folder should be no problem. When you update the Airac files, you are often left with a backup of the old ones. The 777 will only look for the files in the root NavData. Best thing to do is put the most recent in PSS/Navdata/ and move the rest out of FS9 into a storage folder.3. You should not have any Texture folders under PSS/: delete them.4. The final 4 files in root PSS/ are the old data files for the PSS automatic install/uninstall. Again not required to run the 777 after a manual copy/paste install.See how this goes. In the meantime, I'll put together a clean 777 specific files structure just in case!John

Thanks John, that will help me tidy up my PSS Folder. The Folder 'mess' didn't stop me having the best flight(yesterday) so far in the T7, 'twas perfect :) I intervened about 5 dme from touchdown to make sure we arrived at the correct speed, I will have to try letting it land itself; I'm a little 'twitchy' at the moment! I made a video of the flight using Recorder 1.3, it was great to watch :)Thank you for all your help, you are doing a splended job in co-ordination the recovery of the PSS Boeings, when all seemed lost.Another round of thanks for the other Boeing owners who have also contributed e.g Ben with his amazing File Dump.To use a well known phrase or saying "When the going gets tough, the tough get going"!Ken

John,The way I do it is to open a command window, navigate to the root folder containing all other files/folders, then type DIR /S *.* > C:.txt This example creates a text file directly on c: containing the list. Very handy little switch. I'm sure sharper than me can come up with a batch, utility or better method. regards,Mark

Mark
