A320 brake and throttle problem.

Recommended Posts

I have recently returned to flying the PSS A320 after having not flown it for quite some time. It seems to have developed a couple of issues that I don't recall ever seeing before. As soon as I start to taxi from the terminal, the brake temps immediately shoot up to an insanely high number... around 8000 degrees C, and this without even touching the brakes.I can control the throttle with the joystick, but cannot move the throttle to the preset detents for TO/GA, FLEX etc, using the F1-F4 keys. Also, the visual throttle levers on the center console do not move, either when pressing the F1 through F4 keys, or when moving the joystick throttle... even though the joystick DOES control engine power. All other systems work perfectly, on the ground and in flight. Not sure what the problem might be. I did install a couple of other add-on aircraft since the last time I flew the PSS airbus, including the Maddog MD-80 and the SSTSIM Concorde.I'm using FSUIPC 3.50Jim Barrett

Its been a while since I flew my A320 but I believe you need to use the + - keys to get the throttles into the detents.

Ah, yes, I had forgotten that the numeric keypad +/- was the proper keyboard throttle control to use...The brake temp issue is no big deal. The brakes do work properly, and no clouds of smoke pouring out of the wheels in the outside view :) - just don't recall ever seeing such a reading before.I do remember that the PSS buses did show the brakes becoming quite hot with any kind of sigfinicant braking action on landings.Jim Barrett
