December 17, 200223 yr I have used RC several times and everything seems great. If I am flying a flight plan will RC tell me to change course per flight plan as FSATC does?I know copilot automatically follows the course but if I am flying when I hit a waypoint where a change of heading is required and I don't turn will rc tell me to change course? It seems that if you stay on course RC doesn't tell you anything whereas in FSATC I think if you turn before ATC tells you to you are told to get back on course. Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
December 17, 200223 yr Commercial Member the pilot (you) or the co-pilot (otto) is expected to fly the flight plan. atc isn't going to tell you fly heading this, fly heading that, so you stay on your flight plan.the first line of the rc advdisp will tell you the heading to the next checkpoint. fly it. when you are within 10 miles (i think), a second line appears. that tells you the next checkpoint you will be going to, when you pass the one coming up. that allows you to plan aheadatc will yell at you for being off course (not turning), but they are not going to tell you what to do while flying a flight plan JD Read my blog
December 17, 200223 yr The controllers tell you if you're off your filed route, yes. There are no "hand-holding" vectors. That's not ATC's job until final.
December 17, 200223 yr Geez JD, if you're going to keep posting before me as I type away, and even more, giving the right detailed answer, then I might as well go Christmas shopping. ;-)

December 18, 200223 yr JD, Really hate to correct you , especially after beating Scott to the post, but the distance the next waypoint shows up on the RC menu is 15 miles, not 10. ;-)Best, Rob
