Been away and questions.

Recommended Posts

Been away from RC for about a year and a half. Am just getting back into FS after a well deserved rest. Got lots done. The wife's TO DO list is almost blank. Anyway, I was flying with FSATC and had a situation that was wondering how I could handle it in RC. I was expected to climb to 14,000 feet. This is in CANADA, if that matters. My Baron 58 could not sustain that altitude with the winter storm over the area and I was bounced up and down by 500 feet. MSATC eventually cancelled my IFR clearance. I remember that in RC you could deviate for weather but does that just mean left or right? I wanted to drop a couple or few thousand feet. I had no choice. I had to. Would RC have let me or could I have gotten busted for this? Getting busted is not that bad as I think RC would still let you continue the flight. Is this right?JimCYWG

deviate for weather is a left or right thing.in this case, you could have simply asked for a lower altitude.welcome back. keep that list empty, if you can.jd
