I have now used RC v3.0 for several months still having the same problem: I fly the route using the PIC767 FMC and having exactly the same route within radar contact. A few miles after departure, often as low as 4000 ft, the controller asks me to fly a heading I already am on. This continues the whole flight. The only way to avoid these commands is to request a deviation for weather. But after processing the next waypoint, the controller asks me back on course. No matter how much waypoints I have on my route and how close together they are, I am always critisized for not flying my route. I have never seen this with RC 2.1. . It is really annoying and I hope you have a quick solution.regards,

open the .pln file for your flight with notepad. Hi,the problem applies to all my flight plans, regardsless wether I follow a SID with the first wpt 2 miles outbound the departure runway or when there is no SID and the first waypoint (VOR) is about 50 miles away. I flew the route once more yesterday. As expected, I was not given a heading after departure since I was flying the SID, but after prosessing the third waypoint, the RC controller said I was drifting off course and gave me a heading to fly I already was on. i flew all the way to abaxa, without a negative peep from the controller.this was an fs2002 flight, took off runway 7. did a climbing right turn to the make the first waypoint, which i did, then new heading to the second, then the third, then the fourth.normal tower to departure handoff, departure to center hand off, normal step climb.nothing out of the ordinaryare the checkpoints progressing in the advdisp window. are you getting credit for DF234? that's kind of close to the airport, and you have to fly within 2 miles of each checkpoint to get credit for it.if you are passing the third checkpoint, and DF234 is still the first checkpoint in the advdisp window, you aren't getting credit for the first checkpoint.does this happen to you on every flight plan? every sid?jd

i'm guessing you're never getting credit for the first checkpoint. it tooks some skill to wrap it around and get credit for the first checkpoint in that eddf-kord flight plan.remember on sids, you must progress each checkpoint within 2 miles.jd

Yeah I found out that out the hard way. I was flying from kacy to klga when I started getting goofy vectors from atc. Basically they were sending me back towards kacy (or so I thought) after a few minutes I realised that I missed the first checkpoint (cyn). Well I didn't want to fly back to start over (waste of time and fuel) so I continued on. Then I got another message from atc asking if something was wrong and if I needed assist. They still wanted me to fly back to the missed checkpoint.Well I scrolled through the menu and there it was! you could request direct to next waypoint. I did and they told me to ask again in about two minutes. So I waited and then asked again and viola! I was cleared and problem solved.

you don't have to wait :-)if you ask immediately, again, you will be cleared direct.but it is ok to wait, you don't want to be impatient in the eyes of the controller :-)

DF234 is 3 miles from EDDF and easyly to overfly both manually and using LNAV. I have flown the same route once more. I got credits for ALL waypoints in advdsp. 10 miles after GOGAS though, the controller began to ask me to fly the same heading I already was on (he said I was off route, but did not give me a heading 180 degrees back). This was repeated 4 times until the next waypoint, but I had credit for GOGAS as well. Requesting direct wpt doesn
