Moose Hunters - Some Humor for Bush Country Flying

Recommended Posts

Guest Heather 636

Two hunters hire a small plane to take them to a remote area ofCanada. Upon dropping off the hunters, the pilot tellsthem, "Remember, only one moose, because the plane wouldn't be able to take off with more weight than that."The hunters go off. A week later when the plane returns to pick them up the two hunters are standing by the lake with two moose. The pilot fumes, "I told you guys only one moose, you'll have toleave one because we won't be able to take off with that much weight.""Oh, c'mon," beg the two hunters, "Last year the pilot let us taketwo moose on, you're just a chicken."Not wanting to be accused of being a coward, the pilot allows the two to bring both moose on the craft. The plane starts across the lake, straining to take off. The pilottries and tries to no avail as they run out of room and the planecrashes into the trees at the end of the lake.A while later, after coming to, one of the hunters gets up and looks at all the scattered debris of the wreck and says, "Where are we?"To which the other hunter replies, "Oh, I'd say about a hundred yards farther than last year."Cheers!]Heather

:-lolI like that bear, um, deer? When i get done with all of my other "little" projects, I may have to look into your "airline."I'm already a pilot with DCAirways but when I'm not slinging hash, fixing engines, or shuffling passengers and mail around in my DC-3, I love tooling around the Pacific Northwest in a DeHavilland Beaver; a great classic! My first attempt at repainting was this Beaver I did for my brother.Currently at my second attempt with a DC-3; "Heather's Air Charter" with the same Vargas girl on the nose section, a project that is driving me bananas.I start flying for you guys, I may have to steal his plane and change the name on it. ;)

Heather, With a Beaver like that you are always welcome at BFU, anytime ... :-lol And don't worry, it's not really an airline... more like a pretty funny bunch of bush flyers with not much coordination, rules or roder, really. But lots of fun :-) :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_051.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A. I'm not EVEN going to touch any of the puns that may have been floating around this post, but when i get some loose ends taken care of, I'll definitely look into "Bush Flying Unlimited."You all sound like my kind of crowd.DCA only requires that I maintain two hours of flight time logged per month to stay on the roster. I do more than that in my sleep. ;)Cheers!Bad Weather Heather

DCA sounds a lot like BFU. Many of us are too busy making wise cracks at the forums or just having fun admiring the countryside, than making flight hours... LOL. And I usually forget to log them anyway.I'msure we'll see you around Heather.... you like my kinda aircraft too ;-) :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_051.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A. Don,This thread certainly gives me an idea for some nose-art repaints. If there's a paint-kit available for the FSD Porter then I might have a stab at putting Linda (you know who I'm talking about!) on the nose :-)Once I've finished updating the web-site for the 2002 season then I might see about joining BFU and getting back into simming (I think I've flown for less than 10 hours in the past two months!).Iain Spowart,Scotland.Webmaster and photographer,Scottish Claymores 2002Cheerleaders Fan Sitehttp://www.claymorescheerleaders.com/media/avsim/2002-s.jpghttp://ClaymoresCheerleaders.com

Don,What she doesn't know, can't hurt you! Maybe you could set up a new VA - Linda's Bush Flying Club :-)(She'll kill me if she see this but since I've already put her on the web-site singing (and soon to be waxing someone's back on the http://www.lardyboys.co.uk site...) then I doubt I can do any more to embarrass her!)Edit: LardyBoys site appears to be down at the moment. For those who don't know, the Lardy Boys are a sturdy (and lardy!) bunch who support the Scottish Claymores by appearing topless at the games with 'Claymores' painted on their chests! I took photos and video on Sunday of one of them having his back waxed for charity and the clip should be on their site soon.Iain Spowart,Scotland.

Don,Getting hit by your wife can't be as painful as having your back waxed by Linda! While we wait for the LardyBoys site to be updated you could watch the videos at the following (secret) address: http://www.claymorescheerleaders.com/media...boys/lardy1.wmv and http://www.claymorescheerleaders.com/media...boys/lardy2.wmvNote to Heather: Sorry for bringing your post down to this level! I loved your joke though :-)Iain Spowart,Scotland.

LOL!No lower than circles I have found myself in before, but thank you for the apology; you're a gentleman. You should have heard the ribbing I got after landing and the fellas discovered I had "unsuccessfully" attempted to pee into a mug from a bucket seat while flying. And no, the airplane did NOT have an autopilot!Cheers!Heather
