How do I plug in an ADF once it's showing on a panel?

Recommended Posts

I've managed to get an ADF display and an ADF receiver to show up on the panel of the C421 Golden Eagle with a bit of work in the (free version of) CGFedit and some cutting and pasting. The thing is that the receiver turns on with the battery and not the avionics bus switch, and the ADF display sits there doing nothing. What do I need to do to:-1) Get the ADF display and the receiver coupled?2) Make it so that it's plugged into the avionics bus?3) Make it so that the ident works with the audio selection panel? Thanks in advance.

It would help a lot if you told us which ADF gauges you plugged into the panel. The default MS one? A third party gauge?

Both of these are default MS gauges, so they should work fine. You shouldn't have to do anything special. The only thing I can think of, is that the aircraft.cfg file may need some additional lines in the (Radios) section. If the airplane did not have an ADF installed in it to begin with, it may have the ADF line disabled. Make sure it looks like this, or change it to suit.(Radios)Adf.1=1Make sure that line -- the adf line -- is part of the (Radios) section in your aircraft.cfg file. I am using parenthese instead of square brackets, as square brackets won't show in these forums.Once the ADF is enabled, the ident should also be working, and you do not need to worry about coupling, as this should be automatic.Good Luck!
