Weather Generator

Is there now or will there soon be a weather generator add on for FS2002? I enjoy real world weather via FSMeteo but would really like to fly in randomly generated weather complete with moving fronts and storm systems.Thanks.

I've been looking for the same thing as well. I'm home from college for the summer and have my PC stuck in a corner of my room no where near a phone jack. Besides, its only 56K and would take forever to download the real weather. I'd like to have something to give me variation, since the manual weather configuration sucks and I don't like to waste my time with it.

The problem is that FS2000 and 2K2 are All-or-Nothing westher systems. No fronts, no clear air with T-storms in the distance.It's the one thing that really needs to be fixed. FS98 had it, why not "better" versions?

Yes there is one and the file name is wx2002v1.zip---as far as I know it can be only obtained from flightsim.com (try to get in).EdPS. The only problem is that the ATC function of fs2002 is disabled.

There is a weather generator that doesn't disble ATC - it's Wetter2002; works well for me. It's a prog. that is run outside of FS2k2 - communicates via FSUIPC, I think.Schofi

Thanks Schofi for the lead. Looks very promising. Now, between FSMaintenance, FSMeteo, Wetter2002, and others, I really need to find some income. Or only with the default 2K2?When running FSMeteo I have approached T-storms in the distance and indeed flown into them -- seemed like it was clear air I was flying in (but I don't remember right now, to tell the truth). I just assumed this was the way FS2K2 worked, but perhaps it was the combination with FSMeteo reading the weather and then "assembling" it in front of me.
