My panel option for the awesome FFG Lear 35A

Recommended Posts

Hi All.I have been waiting oooohhhhhh sssssoooo long for this plane. The Lear 35A is my all time favourite plane, period.:-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpyThe panel I am using is from David Durst's Lear 35A plane/panel package that is availible on his web site http://www.fspanels.com/.I still have David's plane installed as I have been flying it since I started using FS 2002 (I was a FLY!II guy and still am).I had to switch some gauges and change the panel to suit myself (sorry David).Anyway here is a pic of my version of the panel, a pic of the real panel from the plane in the next pic of my son and youngest daughter standing beside a Lear that comes in and out of my local airport (CYTA).I anyone wants more panel pics, email me and I will send them.David Duffy TWF268 Timberwolf Air: "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere"

David, funny, I'm using the same panel, I think I found it when the 31A came out for FS2000. One quick question though......Do you get those error messages about compatibility issues with FS2002 at startup of the aircraft? They don't seem to do any harm though.Cheers,Petehttp://home.neo.rr.com/zaehringer/pipersignature.jpgPIII600,512MB,Win98SE,DirectX8a,Geforce32DDR(Det.22.80),SBlive(4.06.703)

Hi Pete.Yes I was getting the messages, that is the reason I switched some of the gauges, other than that it is a great panel.:-kewlDavid Duffy TWF268 Timberwolf Air: "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere, VISA/MC Accepted" http://www.timberwolfair.com/

Hey Twister. All I did was change the problem gauges with CFgEdit. Excellent program except it does not handle the FS2K2 *.cab gauges, but I have been able to work around that.:-)Other than that I did not do much to the panel bitmap. If it does not offend anyone, I will send you a copy of my panel.cfg........... but you may or may not have the required gauges.Drop me an email and I will send it off to you.I have done a few panels for myself with CFgEdit, like a correct Caribou panel and a Piper Chieftain, and most of my panels I have altered to suit myself, timers, forward views, and trim gauges and the like.I hope that helps.:-coolCheer'sDavid Duffy TWF268 Timberwolf Air: "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere. We Deliver." http://www.timberwolfair.com/

Could you also send it to me, please? :-)(Added) Just saw that David seems to have a FS2002-ready version of the L35 panel available - was this the version you were having trouble with?Cheers,

I tried that panel, and it is wonderfully accurate, however, I had some FS2002 errors on panel startup, even with the newest version.I personally have always loved Ray Penningtons old FS98 Lear bitmap, so I ressurected this bitmap, touched up a bit and built a nice panel for the Lear 35 with it. Not 100% accurate like David's, but it conveys the feel, I think.http://www.lovett.org/jsp/pub/fs/lear35_panel.jpg

Did some tweaking on David's panel in CFGEdit, and it got me rid of those incompatibility messages. I edited the panel to use some gauges from Staffan Ahlberg's 737-200 panel and Vanessa Leightower's DC-10 panel which I both have and like a lot - might not be totally accurate for a Lear 35 either, but it looks about right, and it works.
