Voices set are very slow and dull

In the voice selection options there is a sliding scale that changes the speed of the voice playback for each voice actor.

Have you installed the 4.01 upgrade files? On the voices screen there are slider bars underneith each pilot and controller. You can control the speed of each voice or you can use the master slider to control all voices. Make sure the slider bar is all the way to the left for fastest speech. The farther right you go the slower the speech.If you haven't defragmented your hard drive after installing RC you might want to do that also.
