FSUIPC 3.553 with AdvDisp replacement now available

Yes, I agree 100%!! the Advdisplay module was/is a dinosaur that's not on par with the current technology. The final touch now, should be an ability to dock it, or even better, to associate it to a key so it can be turned an/off, not unlike the ATC window and the `~ (Tilda) key (also for non registered IPC)

Hi Nick,If you have a registered version of FSUIPC the advdisplay hotkey you assigned on the hotkey page should work with the new window.Unregistered users of fsuipc can still assign a hotkey for this but need to manually edit the fsuipc.ini file. Details are in the fsuipc documentation. All the best,John

I am using the unregistered version, and Pete's site indicates that one can use a hotkey for unregistered version by editing the ini file. Yet I cannot find how to do this in any documentation on his website. If anyone knows, could they tell us users how to do it?I agree this is certainly a great step forward, jsut want to be able to toggle it on/off now.ThanksGreg

Yes,I read you should add AdvDisplayHotKey entry in the ini file, but I can't figure out what value should it get, say, if I want to assign the Tilda key to it...//Michael

Hi Greg and Michael,If you look in the 'FSUIPC for advanced users.doc' supplied with fsuipc you should find a list of the codes for various keys.In the general section of my fsuipc.ini I have the lineAdvDisplayHotKey=116,8This makes F5 the advdisplay hotkey (I think).Hope this helps,John

I'd like to thank you.I deleted advdisplay.dll, extracted FSUIPC3.553.dll into FS9/modules folder and you're right. It really works a lot better than advdisplay. Pete Dowson did a terrific job of integration between FSUIPC & RC.

Wow - what an improvement. With the old adventure display, I was having long delays switching views and I didn't know it was Adventure Display causing it. Now, the change in views is instantaneous. And the hot key still works to toggle the display on and off (I prefer off as I know most of the standard key commands for responding, and I only switch it on to check for a command I don't know or to get an ILs freq, etc). Great job.
