Weird problem with RC4

Recommended Posts

Guest Panman

I startup FS2004, ASV and BAV OSP, (no RC4 yet) in that order so that I can do an offline flight.Select the PMDG 737, load up EGKK (Gatwick Pro) - EGNT (UK2000). Wait a couple of minutes so the weather can update then reload the AI Traffic.Load up the flight plan into RC4 - first problem. The departure line shows all ATC having a frequency of 0 (arrivals is fine). Not a problem, go into the controller setup and tick all the boxes, and note that the frequencies are automatically inserted. Click OK and go back to the main screen. The departure line still says that all frequencies for depature are 0. GO back into controller info and tick all the boxes. COme back out. Still all controller info is 0.Rebuild the scenery database just in case and do all the steps above. Still the departure frequencies are all 0.Click on Start RC4 and the 737 gets moved from 56R at EGKK to somehere i n the middle of the atlantic off the coast of Africa. What's going on??

you can't start rc, and then go back and click controllers and frequency. you have to do that prior to starting rcegkk has frequencies, i just checked.did you edit the f4.csv file?is there an xyz.rc4 file in the my documents and settingsflight simulator files directory, where xyz is the same name as the flight plan you loaded? delete it and try againif you get moved to lat=0 and lon=0, then your .pln must really messed up. why not open the .pln, copy and paste the contents here....jd

Yes, that's what the line in f4.csv looks like. The f4.csv file doesn't look corrupted (thinking along the lines of antivirus interference). Can you send me a new f4.csv let me try that out?So far I have completed one flight with RC4 with no problems (this being the second flight I am trying to do btw). Any other suggestions JD? Should I try a reinstall?

A further twist. All flightplans that feature Gatwick have this problem. If Gatwick is the departure airfield - no departure frequencies. If Gatwick is the arrival airfield - no arrival frequencies. All other fps work fine so far.

Hi there,I think you have an addon scenery for EGKK which is messing up the RC 'rebuild scenery database' routine. If you open the a4.csv file I'll bet there is no entry for EGKK in there.A solution for this is probably the following:1. Go to the scenery folder for your addon EGKK scenery.2. There should be an af2 file (AF2_EGKK.bgl or something)3. Rename this zzzAF2_EGKK.bgl - to ensure that it is alphabetically the last file in the folder.4. Rebuild your RC scenery database and see if the problem is fixed. All the best,John

John,You're a star. The offensive file was FS9_DELETE_OTHER_EGKK_AFCADS.bgl. I deleted it as in an email to us beta testers Gary had told us this file wasn't needed. I didn't rename AF2_EGKKPROMAX.bgl just to see what would happen. Rebuilt f4 and a4 and it now works fine. Thanks for all the help guys.
