Filed Flight Level changes unexpectedly.

Recommended Posts

I enter my Flight Level as normal eg 35000 and all is well until I suddenly start getting chastised for busting my altitude. This cannot be so because everything is spot-on. I looked to see that I had entered the correct info and found that it showed 35010. This has repeated every flight. Any thoughts on this, please?Rob

On the Controller info page what are you entering for cruise altitude? Your example of 35000 should be entered as 350 (in the white box).Further on the plane and options page what do you have listed for heading, altitude and speed? Finally what boxes do you have checked under the General Other section?

Rob,PMFJI but if you've entered 35000 as the Cruise Level in RC that equates to an altitude of 663 miles. Probably a tad high for anything other than a moonrocket ;-)Try entering 350 and I'm sure everything will be fine :-waveOne other possibility is that you've set the altitude deviation to zero which doesn't allow for any error. I'm at work so I can't check specifics but try a value of 200 for Altitude deviation and that may solve things.Cheers,

Folks, I just completed a successful flight, no problems at all. I can only think that I was careless inputting the info, trying to squeeze quick flights into my day and not paying sufficient attention. All would now appear to be ok - thank you all for the quick response and sorry to be a bit of a time-waster!Rob.
