FSMeteo and ILS Approach Mis-match...

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hello All!Apologies if this has been asked before - I've searched the forum, including archives and had no luck.I'm thinking of buying FSMeteo so I downloaded the trial version and used it while flying a short IFR trip from Glasgow (UK) to Newcastle. (The weather in the UK is terrible right now - wetter than usual - never thought that would be possible ;)). The weather provided by FSMeteo was fantastic - very low visibilty with lots of clouds and rain.Only problem I had was when I was vectored to Newcastle runway 25 ILS. When I contacted Newcastle approach, on finals, I was told to fly downwind for runway 7. I assume this was because FS2K2's wind direction varied from that being provided by FSMeteo. Is there any way to prevent this happening? Thanks in advanceMurphy

Hi Murphy, Not sure if this may help - I've used FSMeteo for a long long time, and not sure if I've encountered this problem. Try setting the "lock to" distance in FSM to a higher value +/or reducing the refresh time. Another thing you could try is cheking the ATIS reporting box in FSUIPC.Cheers,Paul
