Okay guys, your HONEST opinion please?

Honestly ? I think its a great, detailed livery, but a bit gaudy for my tastes. But that's just a matter of aesthetics - congratulations on a great first livery, you've done better than I ever could !Best wishes,Alastair

Thank you Alastair. Yes, looking at it now, it is a little gaudy but I like it. Initially, I wasn't sure how I was going to repaint the vertical stabilizer. My first approach was just plain white, or the predominant sky blue, with a 48-star flag on it (appropriate to the heydey years of this plane). That grew into the blue forward section with the stars but the ones from the 48-star flag were in even horizontal/vertical rows. So, the final result is what you see. Okay, I was feeling very patriotic when I did this; but then, I'm always patriotic. It could have been worse. I was going to work on a lettering design that would have imposed HAC (Heather's Air Charter) over the stars and stripes on the tail, but even I had to admit that it would be overkill. The paintjob is busy enough now as it is.As much attention I gave to detailing this, you can be assured that if I tackle another using an existing livery, my same attention to detail would apply to it being as authentic as possible with no embellishments. I'm almost fanatical about maintaining historical/current accuracy.I REALLY have to learn more about using alpha files. I'm still very limited to what I can do otherwise.Cheers!Heather
