if you are currently using widefs7 with fsx, you will continue to do that.i don't use simconnecti think the instructions are the same, you update rc on the rc machine, you update fsuipc on the fs machine (and widefs client on the rc machine. isn't widefs built into fsuipc 4?)jd

Oh, I didn't know we should update RCv4 to use against FS9 too. Does it change/improve anything when using it with FS9?Thanks again JD, et al. Merry Christmas...

I think item (10) when using both FS9 and FSX should be clarified to run the rebuild the scenery database for each installation of RC4, if I'm correct, unless it does it on installation so that data files created in the FS9 and FSX root folders are copied to the specific installations.

If we are going to use Radar Contact V4.3 for FSX only why do we have to make a copy of rcv4? Can't we just copy the new rcv4.exe into the existing rcv4 directory? and then run the new makerwys.exe and then rebuilt scenery database.Stelios

it might be nice to have something to go back to, in case you wanted to use fs9or if you mess up the 4.3 upgrade, and you need to go back to somethingand in the future, i will know that rcv4x will be for a fsx install of radar contact 4.3jd

I mean copying the new rcv.exe into the existing directory? like I did with the V.4.3.3839?Besides, who wants to go back to fs9...Stelios

you can do whatever you want, really.i imagine there will be some people who will try fsx, and rcv 4.3 and go back to fs9 and rcv 4.3bottom line, i just want to make sure you have a backup of the rc directory, so you don't have to re-install from cd, do the upgrades, etc.jd

Shouldn't step 9a in the FS9 & FSX instructions point to the "Flight Simulator Files" folder under my docs for FS9? Not "Flight Simulator X Files"?

I'm having a problem. I set it up to use both FS9 and FSX. My FS9 is on C drive and FSX is on D drive. Both rcv4 and rcv4x are on the C drive. When I try to run the rebuild scenery data base for rcv4 for FS9 it starts running it to download from the D drive and FSX. The FSX rcv4 also runs the rebuild scenery data base for the D drive and FSX (which would be correct). How come the rcv4 for FS9 is trying to load FSX data base? Please help. Thanks!Mike
