Nvidia 29.42 drivers place 2 entries in MSCONFIG???

Recommended Posts

Further to the postings regarding problems that people are having with the new Nvidia drivers ---- I noticed that installing the drivers using the EXE file has placed 2 new startup entries in my MSCONFIG -- anybody else noticed this? -- and any ideas what they are for? -- I have tried starting up the computer both with and without them selected and can't see any difference.Barry

Hi Sun,I also have Win2kpro and debating whether to install the new drivers. Did you run an exec. or install the drivers the old fashion way i.e.....1. go to safe mode and uninstall current version2. restart in normal mode and install via the desktop app.Do you see any benefit to the drivers? I currently have 23.11's running just fine with my Visiontek G4.Thanks ... Bob.

One of the entries is used to initialize the color management settings for the desktop on bootup...so if you've adjusted gamma, it will be restored each time. Can't say whether the other entry is related or not...-John
