First, I'd try turning the sliders down. Try you terrain mesh at 75 to 80. Don't run the autogen and scenery complexity greater than very dense. Turn the ATC down. Set the water on detail without reflections. etc, etc. When you get the sliders set to where your computer can handle it, the blurries will go away.

If you don't use the tweaker you will still have blurry from far distance texture , because of the engine etc.. slider only reduce the details and can help to update your texture but does not improve the texture quality. http://www.guru3d.com/files/click on: /video card utility /overloking and utility/GeForce Tweak Utility (no helpfile)Change those setting toLOD -1 or more depend on your system,(Level of details)anisotropy 16 tapAlso on your terrain fs2002.cfg[.TERRAIN.]TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=1The tweaker is good for any games also, all better in visual Direct 3d or OpenGl.Also the locking fps in fs2k2 graphics , when you lock the fps higher than 20 fps, you can have blur if your system is an mid or low setup.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

I've coached people against the Terrain radius "fix", because it introduces another problem--excess memory usage. Expect 20-30 megs minimum, and a gradual "leak" thereafter. This has caused a gradual stutter on some systems on long flights, as memory usage starts tapping into the swap file. The author of the thread reports blurry textures under the aircraft, especially when changing views--whereas the nvidia tweaks and terrain radius tweaks are geared toward improving distant scenery. Don't get me wrong--I've applied the NVidia LOD and anisotropy tweaks, and I love the results. I'd say at some point, the thread's author should do that as well. But first, he should cap framerates (I run admirably well @ 25fps), and also try reducing autogen, which takes up texture slots.I also don't think there's a person here who can honestly say that textures are crystal clear, 100 percent of the time. That misleads some of the people troubleshooting these problems into thinking that they are doing something terribly wrong. Even I see an odd blurred texture when switching views, but 99 percent of the rest of 'em are good enough. I've managed this by keeping Autogen down, my screen resolution to 800x600, and my system clean of all other apps while running 2K2... I also keep water detail and reflections off...I'm sure it helps, as my system isn't wasting cycles for eye-candy. I also note that the dynamic blurries tend to vary by location, and the number of textures (landclasses) used in the location. Pick the AZ desert, which I fly out of, and I can run an F-16 at ground level @ 1000 kts with hardly a blur in the textures. Can't say the same about doing the same thing in the Alps, or in the Andes....So, what a long winded way to say I second mgdbottled's advice!Regards,JohnAuthor, Landclass Assistant & Autoland 2002

Hi, It can many things, but the tweaker must be installed for general improvement as well of the radius setting it improve the texture and he don't have it installed, Also he have an 1.5 ghz it should not have ultra blur texture, it's depend how is the blur level he talks also.Tnt2 ultra on a low system ,lod -1 16 tap anisotropy with my generic textureFPS LOCK is also an major factor.all to full except the water and shadows.1024x768, 32 bitshttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d0e32440ad6b44c.jpg---------------------------------------------------------------------Paul AdviceFS2k2.cfg tweaks for the best image quality-Shorthttp://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...ewmode=threadedFS2k2.cfg tweaks for the best image quality-Longhttp://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...orum=DCForumID8FS2k2.cfg tweaks for the best image quality-Picshttp://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...orum=DCForumID8Update on the Levels=1 line w/picshttp://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...orum=DCForumID8ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Great shot...Now post one over SLC, looking down the Wasatch range... The terrain mesh there is much more varied, and more textures are in use than a simple repetition of farmland... And as a sidenote to my comment about being fair to users--any still shot can be posted showing no blurries... They do happen on all systems from time to time, but if one waits, they also clear on most systems.... IMHO, screenshots related to blurries are a waste of time and lead users to draw the wrong conclusions, and cause them to chase the wrong solutions-- unless posted to specifically show the effects of varying LOD and anisotropic settings...-John

Hi, I agree you can't have 100% clear texture always but they are ok and not too much blur. Look I don't use the default texture anymore, I use mine , they are better than the default and all level of the texture layers are 2x better with 9 mip maps vs 7 on the default dxt1, it reduce the blur in all position far and near.Anyway with his 1.5 ghz he should have good result normaly.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg
