Another V5 question

Recommended Posts

Searching on V5 and headset produced no hits so I couldn't see where this had been asked but - will V5 be able to direct it's sound through a headset as opposed to speaker,or I should ask, will it be a configurable option. If not, IMHO it should be.Thanx,VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpgRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/

if you have vista, you can do that today. no need to do anything with radar contact.there is also a utility, mentioned by someone else, that allows you to direct a specific program's sound to a specific output device.no need to wait til v5.and i'll probably let the os handle where the sound goes, not putting that in the rc codejd

The lack of instructions/use of QSS require assistance on this forum from the experts who directed us to QSS in the first place.Wishing all RC users a healthy and successful 2008 whatever your endeavours may be.

people who run rc on a widefs computer, can get their rc sound through the widefs computer's sound card. fs is running on the other networked computer, and the fs sounds come through the fs computer's sound card.but this isn't for everybody. networking, ip addresses, firewalls, etc complicate this designjd

The utility works in XP but is still a bit cumbersome if you have two sound cards. For those of us with more than one sound card, the ability to specify which device should be application specific. It's getting so it takes more time to preflight the computer than a real a/c.I have Vista and it sux, period. It looks better than XP but doesn't fly anywhere near as well, IMHO. When they get that dog fed I'll reconsider using it.For now, still think the option to select sound output should be internal in V5. :)VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpgRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/

Vic,I'm using a utility called IndieVolume. It handles volumes per application basis. If one has more than one sound card one can assign the card you want the application to sound on. Here's the link. http://indievolume.com/Regards,Gerhard
