Does RC always give headings for each leg of holds?

Featured Replies

I'd read that RC will sometimes put you in a hold but until today, I'd never experienced one before (after probably at least 100 flights with RC4.3). I got put into a hold at CAMRN intersection south of JFK. RC gave me headings for each leg of this hold though, and they were super long, like 20 mile legs and it was basically a square shape rather than a more standard hold shape. Just curious if RC ever puts you in a hold and leaves you on your own to fly standard legs or gives you a DME hold or anything like that, instead of actively telling you when to turn and what heading to turn to for each leg of the hold. Still, it was a neat experience (can't say the same thing for being in the hold in real life, but it was a 'first' for me in FS9.)

well I can't edit my above post because this forum's software is a joke, but I just re-read the portion of the manual about holds and delay vectors. looks like since Otto had the COMs that delay vectors were mandated. RTFM hehe.
