No doubt that the General set a new time-to-climb record during his assent to heaven!  God speed, Gen. Yeager!

To me it is Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Simulator got me hooked on simming.  It was on a CGA monitor with a IBM PC XT 4.77MHz, in the world when people had 286s/386s with EGA/VGA monitor.

I kept dreaming one day I will have tons of computers and flight sim stuff...and low and behold it is here on my end today.

I always Marvel at the X-1 at Smithsonian museum every time I am there.  I was watching I dream of Jeannie episodes with my wife, and in one episode Gen. Yeager shows up as a cameo.  It was so cool.  I saw that episode like a week ago, and I even started to watch the documentary for the Mig-15s, as US and Gen. Yeager were flight testing that bird during the Korean War, when N.Korean defector just lands the plane on US Air Force.  What a story.

    He had the "right stuff"

He is a legend, and he will be missed by me so much.

Rest in Peace Mr. Chuck Yeager

Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, is what started my passion for flightsim. Loved that game! I think I still have the spiral binded manual somewhere.

Me and my brother use to kick butt at this sim using the trusty AT 286 with a adlib sound, and video card the size of my dads 1977 Cadillac (Smiles).  Will miss those days.  RIP Chuck.

Saw him at Oshkosh EA Airventure 1994 giving a lecture/interview. Men like him and Bob Hoover, so 'down to earth'. Impressive. RIP General.
