CARENADO A72 500 SERIES P3D/FSX RELEASED

Excellent model from Carenado, as always. Hopefully the systems are modeled well, let's say "average" and not too many bugs are present in the initial release v1.0.

Another area of improvement is on the commercial side. Being this a continuation of the ATR saga, one would expect that previous buyers of the ATR42 were entitled to a discount by buying the ATR72, but it seems that it's not the case here.

Anyway, another Carenado turboprop to add to the collection.

Why?  It's a new model and Carenado doesn't typically give upgrade discounts.

Wah Wah, I want a disctount Wah Wah...Good God what an entitled bunch we have become.  You get a 100% discount if you don't buy it.  I will guarantee you that none of you discount fiends would offer a discount if you ran a business and provded products/services.  Just because you have the 42 does not mean you HAVE to get the 72.  Pick one.  If you wanted the 72 you should have waited.  It's only been a couple of months.

There should be a discount only if it required the purchase of the ATR 42, making it an expansion pack.  Since this is a stand-alone aircraft, requiring no other purchase, I see nothing wrong with charging full price.

I think it's a rather reasonable request.

Why?  Justify why Carenado is expected to offer a discount and why it is a dissapointment they did not.  If it is not justifiable, then the request is unreasonable.

I think it is quite understandable that people expect a discount. I don't own the birds, but judging from the pictures it appears that a lot of modelling is similar or identical. Aerosoft, for instance, has a policy that they don't charge you twice for the same file. Hence, you usually get a discount if two different airplanes use much of the same code. The A318/319 and A320/321 packages are an example.

That is not to say that Carenado is obliged to apply the same policy. However, there is a precedent and it also makes sense if the developer re-uses a substantial amount of code/textures from a previous plane. I do not know if that applies here, but I don't see anything unreasonable about the previous comments.

Outstanding aircraft.  I love both the 42 and the new 72. They fly and look beautiful.

Carenado hit a home run with this set.

+1 for the discount if you reuse that much of the same code. Good on Aerosoft for that.
