Huh? Base version costs the same as P3D V5 and offers *much* more. You can also get it for 1,00 in the first month if you subscribe to Game Pass.

I think millions will disagree. Many of us have spent thousands upgrading their PCs and adding add ons to enhance it's predecessor.

Despite that to my mind FSX was the best £60 I ever spent.

For years it stuttered on my PCs. It was so disappointing to buy a shiny new one and still find that the sliders couldn't be pushed all the way to the right. The missions were alluring and the ability to add to it like never before.

Even now Steam Edition has an important place on my PC. It is 32 bit, it will never be free from OOM crashes.

My concern is will it again be years before we have computers able to run it properly?

Overpriced?  I don't see that, considering the number of aircraft included and they do not seem to be the cheesy MS aircraft, but were designed by third party developers.  Combine that with a built in real-time weather with payware add-on quality and real-world AI traffic.  You would spend a lot more buying something like FSX and then adding these features.

Nothing is ever overpriced in the world of Flightsims. I know people who spend 20 bucks on trees.

The basic sim costs $60, Add ons will cost best part of that for a plane or airport or scenery.

If we are serious the cost of the sim is negligible compared to the overall oiutlay.

Just buy the standard version and then get addons for what you need. I doubt I'll want to pay extra just to get more default things I will not use anyway. Personally I'm not touching this sim until I can see the SDK and a decent lineup of addons.

40 handcrafted airports in Premium Delux included ...How much would they cost if you were to buy them separately..

Just preordered Standard Edition for same price as X-Plane, but with a bunch more out of the box.

I have no idea - sorry but when ordered the item you should have found in their downloading page all about down loading and installing

I will wait until I can buy it physically from aerosoft

Before we finish, users will spend $1,000s on airport and scenery addons, guaranteed.

9 holes of golf $50, a movie $10-$20, a fancy coffee $5+, a tank of gas $70+ and on and on.

As a base software program is seems reasonable.

I would not say it is expensive comparing with P3D or X PLANE 11.  Because P3D is only available by download still it costs $60.00

X Plane11 is similar price and they can not match in graphics or come nearer to FS2020 and if you want to buy box version

you get DVDs price is same

Does anyone know if the included planes are anywhere close to being realistic compared to the 3rd party add ons we are used to buying got our current sims? To me I'd rather fly a highly detailed accurate model at night than a basic one in beautiful scenery. Sorry if I've missed anything obvious in the media I've been out of touch for quite some time. I currently have a highly functional fsx setup with enough scenery and planes to last me indefinitely. Everything is tweaked and smooth, albeit lacking in modern gloss. There would be no initial interest from me for the new sim if I couldn't port at least one of my addon planes over or at the least pay a little more to make it compatible. If anyone has links to aircraft addons already being created by established modelers /designers I'd love to see them.

Will still be watching this software closely over its first year or 2. If it's mission is to become a full blown sim for pro and fun pilots I'm interested. If it's more eye candy than redundant flight systems I won't be.

    Just pre-ordered the Premium Deluxe.
For me it's the way of saying thank you to the developers for delivering us an amazing new simulator. I purchased all MSFS starting FS98 and this one is no exception. I think it's important to support the product so we can enjoy new upgrades in the future.

Hi, I have the feeling that the recommended requirements are a little bit low....  I cannot understand how all this level of detail + the flight dynamics we watched can be processed by the following hardware....

    • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or better
    • RAM: 16 GB
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • VIDEO CARD: Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 970
    • PIXEL SHADER: 5.1
    • VERTEX SHADER: 5.1
    • FREE DISK SPACE: 150 GB
    • DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 4096 MB

    Regards....

You are right, somewhat. They are the minimum requirements. We all know that you will not be able to run with the sliders all the way to the right, but you will run the sim, just with very little detail. Use the highest of the three seta of specs shown for what we all want. Lots of detail and performance.

I have got the recommended system for FS2020 but I am wondering that since when you buy any of the editions ,you get one license

for installation and if I upgrade for higher specks in the future, say from AMD to INTEL system will I get problem from the DVDs?

If any body can put light on this matter, I hope some people will find a bit reassurance. Thanks

You must be confusing me with Boomer above, I never said it was overpriced, in fact I said the opposite.

What I did add is that those of us into flight simulation will likely spend considerable more monies on addons.  What was missing and fairly obvious, that we all will spend $1,000s on addons and therefore the base price is minor.

Cheers. Just wanted to be clear that I do not think it's over priced that was someone else.
