Overpriced?  I don't see that, considering the number of aircraft included and they do not seem to be the cheesy MS aircraft, but were designed by third party developers.  Combine that with a built in real-time weather with payware add-on quality and real-world AI traffic.  You would spend a lot more buying something like FSX and then adding these features.

I agree with you 100%.  I have already bought the Deluxe version.  I mean, why not.  With the airports and planes included for that price?!?!?!?!  OMG, Just over the past 2 years I have spent over $1500 on ADD-ONS for my P3Dv4.  That doesn't include the computer upgrades that have me already in the perfect zone for the highest level for FS2020!

So my computer already exceeds the requirements for the best levels MS suggests.  From just the previews and reviews I have seen the level of detail for the INCLUDED aircraft and airports you would pay well over $1000 for those from 3rd party.  I know...I have!!!!

Years ago I sat down and figured out what I spent for my FSX over the years. Including the GOLD version of the software and then all the add-ons (software only) I spent well over $3500 on that one.  I have been wondering if I could even recoup 1/10 of that money spent selling it all.....I doubt it.  Sort of depressing but thus is the game of buying goodies on a computer!!!  LOL

To anyone thinking this is overpriced....you are quite simply NUTS!!!!!  $120 (what I paid for the Premium version) to get all this...  Hell, if my house looks like my house (and from every review I have seen...and that's about 20 so far) my house will look like my house) it's worth the money!  LOL   But, figure, how much did you pay for your last 747 you bought?  Mine cost almost $100 with a discount I had.  That's ONE plane.  I paid $60 for my LAX add on.  My weather package was over $50 (REX) and my AI package was $30.  I also have every package from ORBX (yeah, I love their stuff and got a great bonus from my real job a year ago...lol) So do that math...  All this now included in FS2020 ....  BUILT IN!!!!!!

    Cost too much!!!???  NUTZ!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt I'll buy it at some point in the next few years.

I'll give it time to mature and for all the hype to die down and the real would usage to be seen.

I thank all of you that buy it straight away, you're the heroes that'll iron everything out for the rest of us.

    I salute you!

My concern is the usual one. Spec required. I've just rebuilt my PC and it's now pretty well up-to-date and very usable for all of my needs (FSX has nearly every slider over to the right, lol!), but it only just meets the minimum spec. I know, it's the same with every release of MSFS, but just for once I was hoping mere mortals, like most of us users, were going to get something we could buy and enjoy straight away.

Maybe this will be the case, but as I said earlier, I'll wait for real world usage from you heroes.

BTW, this is pretty much copy/paste from every MSFS that's ever been released!

    Have fun,

    Rick.

    EDIT.

    Ref Price.

On the fence. Seems reasonable for all reasons already been given.

I wonder, if I buy the basic will I then be able to "Upgrade" to the other versions as a DLC at a later date if I wish too?

What he said. I'll wait for reports from early adopters before I spec a new DIY system. I know that I'm probably looking at a minimum of $1,500 for hardware upgrades alone (mobo, cpu, gpu, cooling, DRAM, etc).

I agree with what's been said about FS2020 pricing in comparison to the current cost of hi-quality aircraft and scenery addons, i.e., an entire modern platform for $160 is completely reasonable. However, I won't be hopping on board the new sim until some of my favorite developers begin to release their reworked products (PMDG, AS, FSDT) and I can be sure to have weather capabilities in FS2020 (either native or 3rd party) that match or exceed what I now experience with the combination of Active Sky + REX. Comments I've read from developers that migrating existing products to the new platform will not be simple, and that documentation for the SDK is spotty at best lead me to believe that new products won't be flooding the market anytime soon.

In short, excited as I am about FS2020, for me this is probably gonna be a long process. I doubt I'll even purchase the new sim before early 2021, and I don't expect to have both feet into it until sometime next summer.

Yes, you will be able to upgrade to better version anytime.  The store (built into the sim) will allow you to upgrade, buy other planes, airports, etc...  Anytime.  And will install everything automatically so it just simply works...no tweaking and playing with where each file goes anymore.  🙂

I am very interested in the new MS Flight Simulator.  I began flight simulation about a year ago and used Xp11, including Vulkan, to learn to fly.  Although I have flown a number of aircraft on Xp11, including the P51, Corsair, and the F18, Cessna G1000, and the Cirrus SF20 G1000, I like the Cirrus best as it it a single jet capable of 250 cruising and as little of 100 when I slow down to get a closer look.  I do sightseeing, low and slow, using AP and GPS coordinates to set up my sightseeing adventures.

I like Xp11 a lot, but desire better FPS performance and the highest level of detail possible.  Have seen the MS trailer and am intrigued by the notion of downloading scenery on the fly as XP11 seems to choke the CPU during rendering.  Also I have already accumulated 500GB in custom scenery and that only includes NJ, and part of NY.

I am running 3 screens giving me about 150 degrees of view.  Does the forthcoming MS simulator do that?  I have a robust computer.

Maingear, Intel i9 8 cores 500 auto turbo, NVIDIA 2080 TI, 2 1 TB SSD Drives, 32GB memory, 3 32" Acer Predator G-Sync Monitors running at 2K, 1 27" Monitor HDMI (Checklists, Etc.) , Honeycomb Alpha, 2 Logitech Throttle Assemblies.

I will go with the premier edition and my internet connection runs a 200mbs for download so I am hopeful that the CPU demand will be less than Xp11 which has to render on the fly?.

Can I get a PDF manual now so I can get prepare for installation and setup?

Does the package include a hard copy manual?

Is there a single jet plane similar to the Cirrus?

Is this the right forum for support once I begin Installation, if so, I welcome the opportunity to converse with fellow simmers.

    Semper Fi,

    Henry

I think millions will disagree. Many of us have spent thousands upgrading their PCs and adding add ons to enhance it's predecessor.

Despite that to my mind FSX was the best £60 I ever spent.

For years it stuttered on my PCs. It was so disappointing to buy a shiny new one and still find that the sliders couldn't be pushed all the way to the right. The missions were alluring and the ability to add to it like never before.

Even now Steam Edition has an important place on my PC. It is 32 bit, it will never be free from OOM crashes.

My concern is will it again be years before we have computers able to run it properly?

It may behoove you to wait until after the official release date so you can read the real-world experiences of people who are actually flying this.

You have an outstanding system, and you will likely get the ideal results, only you can decide if they meet your expectations.  The software is via download in the US, and the DVD set is in Europe only AFAIK.  The Internet download saves you from having to store the entire world scenery packs on your home system - but your PC will still be tasked with doing the final render to your monitors. You can see a list of the included aircraft on the official MSFS website.

MS says you will have the ability to upgrade, but it may not be for the actual cost difference between the levels - implication is buy the higher level up front to get the absolute best price.  FYI there will be a lot of add-on upgrades available both from MS/Asobo as well as 3rd party developers.

I have queried the MS Community at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us

All I want to do is to ask a couple of what I think of as pre-sale function/feature questions - the kind one likes to ask when making a purchase.  I have been stonewalled.  I cannot believe, although I do, that MS would not answer questions like will FS do this or that.

From the trailer, the only info I have, it has been made to look quite spectacular and should immediately motivate me to just plunk my credit card down, but I have been on the planet too long.

I would go on 8/18 but am reluctant to do it because any software product is not returnable.

Please let me know when you folks, some of which have probably been beta testers, will be able to help me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Henry

The NDA likely won't be lifted until release, possibly not even then (like the Official Secrets Act, it may last forever).

But on release there will be many thousands of people babbling their amazement/outrage/confusion/misunderstandings...

If unsure, the Xbox game pass trial is just £1 and gets you standard edition for a month.

I am well aware of MS tactics having competed against MS in the war for the desktop software.

My plan is to just order the premier edition from Amazon.  Got a gift card just waiting for me to use it.

What do you mean by Xbox game pass, don't have an Xbox, plan to run it on my PC:

Maingear, Intel i9 8 cores 500 auto turbo, NVIDIA 2080 TI, 2 1 TB SSD Drives, 32GB memory, 3 32" Acer Predator G-Sync Monitors running at 2K, 1 27" Monitor HDMI (Checklists, Etc.) , Honeycomb Alpha, 2 Logitech Throttle Assemblies, 200mbs network capacity.

Can you clarify Xbox game pass?

Is there a forum for the new flight simulator.  I have been stonewalled with everyone I asked said that information was restricted because of non-disclosure agreements. Can we all assume that now that the product is shipping that I can ask  pre-sale questions regarding feature/functions prior to purchasing.

Where can I go to ask questions.
