    Milviz KA 350i Released

    Chuck_Jodry-VJPL

Own a piece of flight sim history!

The Milviz KA350i has earned its place in the annals of virtual aviation by having arguably the longest development of any finished aircraft simulation . Its first iteration was famously withdrawn for not quite meeting the MilViz standards of excellence. This was followed by an infuriatingly long development period, during which more features were added, standards of fidelity were further raised, and the word 'soon' was redefined on more than one occasion.

Now, Milviz present the long awaited KA350i, complete with PL21, FMS-3000, and more.

    Impressively In-Depth

So, where did that time go? The KA350i PL21 pilot training manual has over 650 pages which, together with other reference sources, have been painstakingly translated into over 75,000 lines of custom code.

With precise, detailed modeling, beautiful texturing inside and out, superb systems replication, and a sound set recorded from a real 350i, we have created a totally immersive simulation that's accurate and enjoyable to fly!

    Fly By The Book

Allowing the pilot to properly feel and truly enjoy the twin 1050 horsepower PT6A's that pull the aircraft though the air with speed and confidence was paramount to this project.

All functions and characteristics emulate the real-world classic turbine exactly. If you have experienced them in real life you will recognise the distinctive start up, and the way power, sounds, temperature and internal pressures are all meticulously co-ordinated.

    Engine model = Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60A
    Engine Power = 1050 HP @ 1700 RPM
Propeller = 4 bladed, constant speed.
    Propeller model = Hartzell B4P10012S

    Custom modelled systems:

    • Startup procedure
    • In-Flight different start procedure
    • Custom specific sounds for entire startup/shutdown sequence, both external and internal.
Sound volume is user configurable with MVAMS.
    • Realistic propeller rotation at engine startup & shutdown.
    • Engine Performance modeled following real engine data from different tables.
    • Engine failures due to limits exceeded (random)
    • Cold & Hot weather operations realistically simulated
    • Fuel System totally simulated
    • Custom Electrical System, including

    Intelligent Avionics

Milviz outfitted the flight deck of our 350i with the same state-of-the-art avionics that grace the real 350i, offering the most complete PL21 simulation available today, providing easy-to-master navigation, VNAV capability, terrain and weather radar, systems monitoring, integrated checklists, and more. We've combined this with an extemely accurate and fully functional FMS-3000, allowing you to take full control over your flight planning.

    Navigraph Compatible

Milviz understand the desire to match your flight plan to the real world, which is why we've made our FMS Navigraph compatible. If you have a Navigraph subscription, you may upload the very latest data, but non-subscribers fear not, we have included a full set of not-quite-up-to-date Navigraph data to keep you on track in the meantime.

Well I have never purchased a Milviz product. I absoultley demand high quality and attention to detail. However, I have been fooled in the past by other developers, so im certainly skeptical. Especially the ones who release " early access". I would expect it to have a few small bugs, but something like not following NAV modes id far from a small bug. Until I have conformation,  I will hold off.

UPDATE: a real King Air pilot did a review of this on twitch. He confirmed that it does NOT fly by the book, and also saw several abnormalities in the airplane as well. Check out his stream-Krusty the Pilot

Sure seems like Krusty was spring loaded to attack this aircraft almost as soon as it was released judging by the time stamp on the postings. Wonder who he's working for.

Someone from Twitch or a YouTube channel saying something controversial...why would they do that?🤥

Either way, Im still very much on the fence about the product. It looks great, but Ive been burned before from making quick descions. I will wait for more input etc...

I will say, though, in Milvis' defense, they certainly owned up to the delay with the release details. There are some developers out there that never actually finish what they take money for. I seem to recall a certain Fokker 100 that did not get a VC finished, or maybe it did, but I missed it.... Good on Milviz for actually finishing. 🙂

    I definitely wouldn't buy it if I was you....luckily I'm not you.

Over the years I've seen reviews by "experts" criticizing every major aircraft simulation, without exception, saying they don't "fly by the book". If I believed their diatribes my hanger would be empty and I'd be flying a bunch of default aircraft that really don't "fly by the book".

Alright then, thanks for the advice/

Wow! It is a shame that, especially just before this holiday, that just as soon as this aircraft is released, the first several comments on here have to be bashing it, and from people who didn't even try it before complaining about it. This happens to be a really beautiful aircraft, inside and out, and I don't think you will see a better simulation of the Proline 21 anywhere. The sounds are amazing as well. Just because one person "reviewed" it and said it did not "fly by the book" does not justify posting so much negativity towards it. I am very grateful to Milviz for releasing this beautiful aircraft, especially just in time for the holidays. We should be supporting these developers, not ripping them apart. If you want to publicly rip it apart, you should at least buy it, prove it, and report the bugs. Help them help you. Thank you Milviz for such an awesome aircraft. Happy Holidays Everyone!

You don't own it but you are bashing it in public over a twitch??? Give me a break!

I bought it day one. Does it have issues? Yes. Is it 100% just like the real-world airplane according to real-world KA pilots? Apparently not but there's more to this airplane to consider. The proline is phenomenal, better than anything out there IMO. The systems are more than enough to manage and have an "advanced" feel to them. Personally, I think the start up sequence is one of the best, if not the best yet out of any GA addon. I did not go into it wishing for it to be a matching virtual counterpart to the RL plane, and for that reason I'm not disappointed. I think with a few patches this could be one of the best GA addons ever made.

That makes two fo us. MilViz seems to pay attention to the small details. I have stuck out many beta release's since this plane was first announced. Happy New Year to all. Keep the clean side up.

That's good to know. Glad to see some more input. There are some videos up from the King Air flight instructor on youtube. I'm still keeping my eye on this one. Hopefully she will be in my hangar soon
