the best ATC program. Very realistic.

Disagree.  PF3 still has serious issues vectoring me to the FAF whereas RC4, with the same flight plan, does fine.

So I dont buy its my "faulty" flight plan.

PF3 works just fine for me, updated regularly and does as advertise. For serious Flight Simmers who strive for reality. That's not to say that non serious simmers can't enjoy PF3 too.

    Just MHO.

And also for serious simmers who would like to be flown into mountains.

I’ve had that in real life once. Told to turn left but ATC meant to say right and away from the mountains.

I haven’t had too many issues like this with PF3.

While you are correct that PF3 has no terrain awareness apart from airport elevations, I would appreciate a more serious attitude instead of such snide remarks.

PF3 requires the same steps as done with real flight planning: If you rely on ATC to not crash into mountains, than you might get the same result in real life, too.

Good point. The key to a successful ATC handing is in the preparation. Bad data in bad data out.

Poor planning will most definitely cause terrain issues.

Well, RC4 also has no terrain awareness but does have options for NOTAMS whereby "if practicle" is amended to its instructions.

With RC4 I have not had any problems flying into mountains.

With PF I have terrain problems all the time when in mountains.

    Ok, so far..

Issue was on the Zip program.

Once Unzipped I installed and tested.

I have used Dave March Software since his first addon back in FS5 I believe,

PF released earlier was OK but I discontinued use.

This time it looks more complete.

I have enjoy the 3 different flight I tested.

    1: USA.

    2: USA to Mexico

    3: Trondheim to Munich.

    Aircraft: ERJ145, ERJ190, B787 8.

First time flying to Mexico City with a very good decent and approach into 5L.

I did let the copilot do some flying and it did good.

    I landed of course.

Sock MS approaches were really off. PF3 solved this issue.

I do not like landing and PF3 telling me to go to Terminal without specific gate.

once on ground  using MS it will assign a proper gate.

    Like the radio transmissions.

like the fact that on long flights, my copilot will take care of communications and flight while I do may chores.

I know is more that I have not explore.

Take in consideration that have used this before, so it is somehow a familiar setup.

I have not really read instructions.

    Just a quick browse.

But for me, PF3 is a keeper.

    Best regards.

First take in consideration that I'm referring to PF/3 only.

I have not tested other program of its like.

So, in comparison with previous version, yes... Vectoring was my first let down.

And any more issues on ground or at flight I do not recollect.

I know they were. other wise I wouldn't remove from my computer.

I like Dave and what he has done from the early years.

So I just removed and started looking for more options.

I read pros and cons as well as user forums.

When I read this new release I decided to give it a shot.

And so far I been pleased with vectoring, of course speed reduction requests and such

And correct line up to runway.

The other day, flying from ENVA to EDDM, I got assigned to land 26R, then a change to 26L for me it was a nice touch and not a robotic command..

    And the regional voice sets.

Plus the radio and at times interference sounds.

Still exploring so I can not provide a full review.

But I decided to keep it on my drive.

I been using flight sim since the Radio Shack Tandy computer era.

Including Solo Flight along with jet fighter sims along the way.

So I do appreciate anyone who does freeware and appreciate some that turned into business.

but I do like the feel and environment of PF3.

    Can it be better?

Yes, and knowing Dave, it will continue to evolve.

    As well as others.

    Best regards

Now, at least I know that elevation is an issue with PF3. While ATC may not have any situational awareness, at least pilots are not nagged about a change from FP altitude the way FSX default ATC does with an IFR plan. As in real life, this is the pilot's responsibility. I think PF3 would be more realistic however if it provided a dialog scenario as altitude adjustments are made.
