The Vertx DA62 Coming soon to Prepar3D v4

    Chuck_Jodry-VJPL

Vertx Flight , a new flight sim aircraft developer will soon be releasing their first product, the Diamond DA62 for Prepar3D  v4.

The Vertx DA62 G1000 PFD has been created using 3D gauge modelling techniques to deliver a PFD with unmatched clarity and animation smoothness.

The G1000 flight planner allows creation, saving and loading of flight plans, as well as compatibility with the built-in P3D flight planner. All of the G1000 autopilot modes have been realistically modelled, including enroute vertical navigation, LPV approaches with glideslope, pitch hold, enroute turn anticipation, course-wheel-steering, plus much more. Accurate Direct-to and OBS mode have been simulated.

The exterior and interior feature crystal clear 4K textures with night lighting and dimmable panel back-lighting.

An advanced flight model includes features such as a custom-coded stall and spin routine, custom-coded single engine flight modelling with realistic VMC behaviour, as well as advanced engine and electrical system modelling.

The virtual cockpit uses a wholly custom-coded sound engine providing many improvements over the standard P3D sound engine. Features include more realistic stereo panning and separation, high propeller angle-of-attack sound effects, and the pitch (or frequency) of the sounds are accurately tied to RPM rather than manifold pressure as is usually the case with piston powered aircraft in P3D. Also included are sounds for all switches and levers, G1000 annunciations, doors plus much more.

High framerates have been made a priority and so far our beta testers are reporting good results in that regard.

Vertx Flight anticipate a release within the next few weeks. Stay tuned for further updates!

Looking forward to a complete feature list. The main thing I'm looking for is an updateable NAV database via Navigraph.

Pracines, the latest preview video suggests it'll be driven by the default P3D nav database. However, if you have a navigraph subscription AND an FSaerodata subscription (which can update the default nav database using the navigraph data) then I expect this will mean we can have full and up-to-date procedures in the DA-62, albeit at an extra cost.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not on the beta team or affiliated with Vertx so this is speculation on my part!

I have seen this new video, and the maker of the video must have read my post here or was told about my post here by the way he responded in the video.

So far it looks very good, and could be a day 1 purchase for me as well, however:

I have FSAerodata as well and it appears that the implementation of the MFD will take advantage of this. So now this begs the question: what date are the actual procedures in their version of the G1000 going to be from? In other words, since Vertx obviously went through a lot of trouble to duplicate the G1000 so excellently, and since FSAerodata/Navigraph have formed an excellent basis of an updateable database (available for years), why leave that portion out of the realism,... at least as an option?

Yes, I use Little Nav Map as well and yes I can copy procedures over to create SID/STAR waypoints during preflight planning. Does not weather change? What if we are in-flight or even on approach and suddenly a STAR to another runway is given, and its a new STAR from 2019 for example? We will have to re-file a flight plan? Not very realistic, I never even pause the sim. The point of completeness or accuracy of data is not the main issue, the issue is, are the procedures in the G1000 current or not.

Maybe it will be an option, but the navigation data date was kept out of sight and the communication against an updateable database was plain enough. FSAerodata by itself is only designed at this point to enhance/update the default GPS units of FSX and P3D. If by chance FSAerodata can update this new G1000 then problem solved, but I did not get that understanding.

I only take this as far as I do because, what good is an outdated Nav database (these days) (procedures in particular) in a top quality aircraft simulation, especially for a simulator that is NOT intended for entertainment?

So, at this point for me, the price of the product, and final feature list will determine the value for my purposes.

Sorry Ron, was just coming to update this comment. It WAS available and now is password-protected! No major new info provided, but the website (and the DA62) looked very nice.

    Hi,

    Just purchased this excellent DA62.

I’m having problems with the engine sound however. From within the cockpit it is VERY quiet. I have tried increasing slider levels in the Configurator by moving the Master Sound, Engine and Propeller sliders to 100%, but it still sounds very muffled/quiet. I have an extensive hangar of aircraft, PMDG, A2A, QW, FSL etc etc  and they are all much noisier.

Externally, its better, though still muffled/quieter than I would expect standing next to a twin.

I have to turn my speaker volume up to twice the normal level i use in P3D to get anything realistic.

    Win 10, P3D v4.4

I am getting an on screen dialogue error reporting sound errors whenever i flick a switch etc

    UPDATE

A second download and install fixed the problem.

Hmm, i bought it today but i have trouble with the panel resolution.
All panel caption are poorly illustreted. It seem that the resulotion for the panels not high enough. I`m using a 34Zoll TFT with 'UWQHD resolution 3440 x 1440.
Any solutions? I checked my P3d cfg chapter panel resolution and test it with max reolution 4096 and 2048 and 3440. But nothing changed.
How can i have support there?
