767 PIC Creator Eric Ernst Dies

So sad to hear, I was a big fan of his and was always very impressed with his work!

It was his 757/767 panels for FS98 that got me hooked on the 767 and later the Pilot in command and the current Level-D .

I recalled corresponding with him a few time and really enjoyed his 757/767 products.  Very sad news.

This is really sad news, I knew Eric, and flew with him, I had not seen him in a couple of years, last I heard he was a A320 captain based at LGA. He was a gentleman, and a dedicated husband and father... rest in peace my friend

I'm so sorry to hear this.  I offer my sincere condolences to his family.  51 is way too young to leave this world.

Very sad to hear this news. I spent many hours flying his boeing 767. It was my introduction to flying a complex aircraft all those years ago. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends, and thank you to Eric for your contribution to our wonderful hobby, and for sparking my interest in flying.

Boy  what a shock,i talked to him at a Flight sim conference in Seattle .

Wow, the creator of the first real serious airliner in Flight Simulation is gone at 51.  So many first in his work.  Very sad to here this.  Does anyone know what happened to him to cause such and untimely death?  I too spoke with him years ago during the glory days of his original efforts.  I remember the airline moved him back to the MD series which he was not too happy about.  He just made captain after all this time last year. He will be missed.

Oh my. I am so sorry to learn of this.  His FS Panels were revolutionary and helped spur the designs of today. He had followed his dads footsteps in flying for AA and that was his stated lifelong dream. So young to go with plenty of great things ahead. I think he would have had the relative seniority to 777 CA at some point in the future. RIP Capt Ernst. Your work meant so much to many of us.

Having a hard time processing this one. This tragic news just leaves me speechless. He was a devoted husband and father and what he contributed to this community - culminating in his magnum opus: PIC767 - completely changed the way I experienced this hobby. What a tremendous loss for the community and for the greater world. He was truly a beacon and will be sorely missed.
