KENYA AIRWAYS B777 JUST PLANES
HIGHLIGHTS
Featuring the operations of Kenya Airways from Nairobi to Amsterdam, this program beginsonboard the aircraft with the Captain briefing the cabin crew prior to boarding. During this briefing, he discusses the details of the flight and the level of service the passengers should expect. I absolutely loved the team spirit that was encouraged by the captain and this segment alone nicely showcases the work culture of this airline.Following this introduction, the First Officer takes the viewers on an exterior walkaround of the aircraft to ensure that the aircraft is in perfect shape for the flight ahead.Once this is completed, we join the First Officer in the cockpit as he does his preflight preparation. During this presentation, it was quite evident that the in-house training at Kenya Airways produces pilots who are not only highly professional, but are also confidently knowledgeable about the aircraft they fly.
Once airborne, another presentation that stood out featured the Captain and First Officer sharing some additional details on the 777-200/300s operated by Kenya Airways which covered the differences between the 777-200 and -300 series. Next, the Captain tells the amazing story of how he became the Director of Flight Operationsafter coming from a very humble beginning without having the means to pay for flying lessons. This presentation was quite touching because in many ways it describes my own journey to eventually become a commercial pilot someday and I am sure many of your viewers who are eager to fly may feel the same way. For those of you interested in becoming a pilot at Kenya Airways, this presentation also discusses the initiatives taken by Kenya Airways to provide in-house training for new pilots with have no flying experience and quite frankly it is a model that all airlines should follow.
After landing at Amsterdam, we join a new flight crew onboard the 777-300 as they prepare the aircraft for the return flight to Nairobi. The highlights of the return flight to Nairobi consisted of more presentations by the Captain as he discusses his career and his love for flying the B777.Also, there were many scenic moments during the approach to Nairobi as the aircraft gracefully made its approach during the dawn. After reminiscing on previous programs that featured the B777, the sentiments expressed about this aircraft all seem to indicate that the B777 is a fan favorite among many pilots. This being the case, I am confident that after looking at this video, you too will find a renewed interest in this majestic aircraft and in Kenya Airways. In summary, this program will surely be a favorite for fans of the B777 and I am confident that all aviation enthusiast will enjoy the insight, personal stories and professional manner of the staff of Kenya Airways.
