    HIGHLIGHTS

One of the newest additions to the list of airlines featured by Just Planes is Trans Northern Aviation. Trans Northern or TNA began its operations in 1995 and has since then grown into a reputable company that specializes in both cargo and passenger operations using a fleet of Beech 99s, Metro III’s and the very unique Super DC3. In this program we will be following the flight crew as they take us to some of the most amazing destinations in Alaska.

The first series of flight features the DC3 from Anchorage to Igiugug and Anchorage to King Salmon. The highlights of these flights were numerous to say the least, but what stood out the most were the hands on approach to flying this unique, iconic aircraft and the scenic views from the cockpit. During these flights, the pilots provide numerous details about the Super DC3 that differentiates it from the original DC3 model. Also featured during these flights are presentations by the pilots about how they started flying and presentations on the cockpit of the DC3. In short, this programs starts off in a way that captures the viewer’s attention and it creates a profound appreciation for the engineering behind this iconic aircraft.

The next series of flights take us onboard the Metro III from Anchorage to Fairbanks. This round trip features the thrill of flying the Metro III with numerous camera views that showcases the stunning beauty of flying in Alaska. You will also notice that flying the Metro III is also a hands on experience since this aircraft does not have an autopilot.

Following our Metro III presentation, we join the crew onboard the Beech 99 as the fly from Anchorage to Kenai and Homer. These flights were equally intriguing and they feature some amazing camera views from the tail of the aircraft in flight. Our final flight features the Super DC3 from Anchorage to Tsiu River. This flight features a thrilling beach landing that showcases the capability and rigidity of this aircraft and it’s a segment of this program that shouldn’t be missed!

Finally, apart from the flying segments, there are also presentations that feature details about the company, unique details about the Super DC3 fleet and an intriguing presentation from the maintenance facility that teaches you some interesting details on the design of the DC3 engines. This program is a must have to anyone who is a fan of the DC-3 or to anyone who is an aviation enthusiast. – Highly Recommended
