  1. Past hour
  2. Afraid of not reading the manual but is there a ASMSFS "flow" widget? The MSFS METAR doesnt work offcause . Otto does offcause Thanks Michael Moe
  3. Yuup, nice set and a nice little birdy you are flying.. cheers 😉
  4. As I said in my reaction to the video, my experience was the opposite. And to the 100% cloud cover, I flew from clear skies into such cover last night and it was very well rendered (I went looking for it by looking at the radar in ASFS).
  5. Great shots, scenery and set - as always ! cheers 😉
  6. Why is it seemingly so difficult for weather software to render 100% cloud cover when the real world skies are overcast (based on that comparison video above)? I seem to remember that even the preset overcast options in FSX and P3D had a hard time doing this.
  7. Yes. I will say, though, that the flat layer clouds currently rendered by ASFS (which I strongly prefer to the MSFS fluffy clouds), can do with a bit more substance to them. They do feel a bit sparse. Maybe that's technically accurate, as I don't know my meteorology, but if not, I'm sure it will get tweaked in subsequent versions.
  8. Beautiful shots buddy, and for shure i love the DC-3 ! cheers 😉
  9. 180 degrees in the other direction (EKVG): Preset mode: Passive mode: Preset mode looks a lot more plausible again (to my eyes).
  10. What strange comparisons. Real world flat layer cloud. AS flat layer cloud but MS big puffy cumulus. Nearly every comparison was like this.
  11. I am noticing my CRJ-900 models to be floating slightly above the ground when depicted as live in PSXT, and the nose gear in particular is 2-3 meters in the air. They appear normal with wheels on the ground when parked. I am using the AIG models and they have all been updated in the AIG Manager. This appears to happen at any airport regardless of terrain/elevation or QNH. They also appear correctly with wheels on the ground when injecting with the AIG injector. I checked the log and am not seeing any CG or elevation errors. The other aircraft types seem to be normal from what I am seeing. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this or had any suggestions? Thanks.
  12. Faroe Islands (EKVG) Active Sky "Preset" mode: Active Sky "Passive" mode: For me, the "Preset" mode works very well (screenshot 2) - it seems more plausible to look at than the default rendering. It's a cold evening in the Faroe Islands. Dull, heavy looking sky. I like it. The cloud layers are much more defined as you travel through them too. METAR: 191750Z 18004KT 9999 BKN030 OVC058 04/M03 Q1024 RMK AS Nice work, Hifi Simulations.
  13. I was referring to the issue with ASutils not running preventing a sim connection. Different thing. If you're not getting wx injected, that's covered here: https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/toolbar-mods.14820/ Hope that helps.
  14. You're using a real picture comparison that is from ground level and comparing it to pictures in Sim from above the cloud layer....try again.
  15. Agreed- in fairness the -10 is better… the shorter moment arm shatters the rotational characteristics… hopefully there will be a concrete solution.
  16. MSFS is definitely gaining critical mass. I think it will be the definitive civilian flight sim for the next decade. The 3rd party devs are definitely coalescing around MSFS. It's a good time if you are a MSFS user.
  17. I have had similar experiences in the past. One thing that fixed it was reinstalling FSUIPC7, making sure to check the option to Start MSFS from FSUIPC7. Then start FSUIPC7 and let it start MSFS. I don't know if you are doing it that way, but that does seem to make it work for me. Dave
  18. Mh, forecast data means it could be just as wrong (or even more wrong) if the forecast does not "hit". I think in regards to clouds both MSFS default and AS will be different from real life outside of the window, no matter what. But no one uses the sim to see what the weather is outside of his window, so in the end what really matters is how "good" / plausible it looks (visually and variety) and how correct the depictions is compared to the METAR, in regards to IFR procedures.
  19. I agree would love to have both, o well keep dreaming 😎
  20. I tend to like Gav's streams and I'm sure many in MSFS have checked out his videos. His experience in this video was the polar opposite of mine, though. I didn't have the exclusively thin clouds that he did and in all occasions, ASFS was at least as good as MSFS live weather and usually much better. One thought for all who are looking at this, how closely the depiction looks seems to be obviously tied to how old the METAR is. A clear drawback of the data as opposed to forecast data, which is what MSFS and Meteoblue seen to use to a great extent. Another thing might be related to the default and Preeet settings. The first thing I did when launching it the first time was set everything with the Realistic setting. I don't know if that changed the graphics being rendered, but it's worked for me. I also set the update time to 15 minutes and the transitions (pre the beta update, which I can't try until later) to 5 (instead of the default 50). Finally, don't forget that this can be paired with MSFS Live weather in Passive mode (so it's not either/or) and also, historical weather is fantastic. I mentioned earlier that I was able to relive the Dubai weather from a few days ago, with PSXT showing me the real traffic from that time. It was, to use an overused expression, immersive. PS - turbulence and wake turbulence can really get you.
  21. You want to get a bum review about a new product, watch the first few You tube videos by clueless people.
  22. I have heard that the cloud turbulence will be in the next FS20 update, or in FS24 at least.
  23. 24. Also - does it say "connected" in green in the AS window, top left corner? if not reinstall and disable your AV for a moment (or exclude the folders). AV can prevent the ASConnector from installing correctly into the community folder. The dev himself explained it better in the other thread (that with 25+ pages...).
