  1. Past hour
  2. A lot of users close their eyes to many aspects of how MFS offers a lot but with rather basic quality and / or coherence in it's implementation. Thanksfully there are deveopers who can turn their addons ( for Airbus I have to consider the FBW the best example, for weather HiFi with ASFS, for ATC (non-AI) FSHUD, ....) into really valuable examples of what can be done with a base simulator with an incredible potential, and a unique capability of portraying the World, even if in some aspects, like colours and lighting I can sometimes find P3D with some mods and XP12 doing an even better job... I am one of those users, and have given up trying to convince myself I can play XP12 or P3D only and find in each of those the satisfaction I look after in a simulator... MSFS is a temptation and now with someone who has long been doing some of the best ever improvements for weather depiction and effects simulation, I am even more feeling at home, and I want to believe MFS 2024 will make me feel even better !
  3. That’s how it’s always been. They are very confused and disconnected from the community in a lot of areas.
  4. Lmao if that constitutes historical weather then we already had that in 2020 as Meteofail at times was about 24 hours behind! what a joke.
  5. Interesting story worth a read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Nighthawk Applied aerodynamics was in its infancy. They were imaginative enough to try even fancy designs then They abandon it just because they found a more efficient to destroy the Zeppelin she was meant to shoot down not because she was sluggish to climb.
  6. Hi Chris, thank you for your very honest words. Sometimes fate strikes hard and then all bad things happen at once. It really needs courage and most people in your situation would give up. Great to see you did not. I am really rooting for you, not just because you are creating wonderful flightsimhardware, but you are a very nice and honest guy. You just wanted to share your passion for flightsimming with us and what happend was not your intention. I belive in you and in Fulcrum and wish you all the best for the future. Good things sometimes needs patience and time. 😉 I am so happy with my Fulcrum Yoke, was one of the best invenstments i made in over 30 years of flightsimming. I loved your throttle since you announced it with kickstarter. Was a nobrainer to order it. 🙂 Looking forward, kind regards Chris (from Austria) 😄
  7. I think thats actually an "it depends" thing...I've played alongside SU15 beta players in the past but that functionality may now be broken on the latest iteration of the Beta, I'll try again this week sometime
  8. Then you should contact the makers. No one here has that throttle to help you.
  9. 24 h is all that I need to fly everywhere in the world with the proper live weather at the time I fly.
  10. You forget why MSFS 2020 was built and why they are building MSFS 2024. The only goal is Xbox and it's not too Airbus for this one.
  11. Yeah, I would have liked at least a week - and for others' sake maybe 6 month by the look of it. I like to save and resume flights when I'm ready for long-haul. Real life does get in the way sometimes! I'm happy to have ASFS instead now. Back home 🙂 Although I still spend 95% of my time in P3D to be honest.
  12. About Gamepass though, if MSFS doesn't bring in the revenue and users to offset what they spend on developing and running MSFS, they are better spending that money elsewhere. For example, should Microsoft spend another $30 USD million on MSFS if it only gets Microsoft another $30 million in revenue, or should Microsoft spend the $30 million adding a popular game to Gamepass, that would bring in $60 million in revenue for them? All things being equal, Microsoft would choose the second scenario, where spending $30 million on a different game would bring in $60 million in revenue for them. So it's not like Microsoft has an endless budget to spend on MSFS. And to be honest, flight simulation is not all that popular among gamers. Flight simulation is still a niche in the video game industry. Fortunately for us, Microsoft is seeing the revenue from MSFS, to justify spending all the money they are spending on making MSFS 2024 (and also all the free stuff we have gotten in MSFS 2020, and the continued development of MSFS 2020). My guess is, while the number of users for MSFS is a lot fewer than other video games, the spend per user is very, very high. There are people buying hundreds of dollars worth of products from the MSFS marketplace (probably some people spending over a thousand dollars in the MSFS marketplace). To me, MSFS 2024 is a very positive development, it shows that the business model is working for Microsoft. And in return, because the business model is working for Microsoft, we are getting yet another next generation flight simulator, that is pushing the boundaries of what modern technology can do for flight simulation (prior to MSFS, the flight simulators being used in the home market were definitely not pushing the limits of what modern technology can do for flight simulation).
  13. Without backporting certain changes, photogrammetry will likely break eventually, along with product updates in the marketplace. And then you'll have a handful of people screaming bloody murder on every social media platform about how they spent $60 four years ago and bought a bunch of addons in the marketplace and its unacceptable for MS to drop support blah blah blah. I would assume updates for existing 2020 addons will be released on both the 2020 and 2024 marketplace if the 3rd party dev desires, as it wouldn't make sense for MS/Asobo to maintain two update approval channels.
  14. Thanks! Tried to find it yesterday, but couldn’t 🫢
  15. Today
  16. Nice for daytime-flights-during-nighttime but personally I want historical weather for something like (for instance) summertime-flights-during-wintertime. So it's a start but not what I was hoping for and not something that gets me excited.
  17. Yeah, that's how it is supposed to work. It prevents collsiions. Yeah that's okay too, you did not collide, did you? If you wanted, you could have prevented that guy overtaking you by blocking it's callsign. You must have seen him on the TCAS and in LittelNavMap a while ago already (unless it really popped up out of nowhere).
  18. At first I thought you made that picture with photoshop! 🤣
  19. Back in the olden days at school, "Chinny chin chin" used to be a common retort to liars and exaggeraters
  20. seems to me everyone here misses the point..its about gamepass, having succesfull games in the gamepass makes people stay on, how many millions have that pass? i dont know but i bet they have at least 100 miliion a month from that. also about not knowing about bugs...in such big projects often the lefthand (managers) do not seem to know what the righthand (workers) do or know. me as a worker have had first hand experience of that fact....i found it often really amasing the lack of knowledge of the project the management has, but they decide what is going to happen. we can only hope that msfs2024 is indeed better in some respects.
  21. I've never needed data older than 24 hours, but as always there are cases and cases... just these days, to test ASFS, someone wanted to test the Dubai storm...
  22. I have an impression that even the simple issue of Historical Weather “wasn't understood” by these gentlemen. “How does anyone want to use that?” I think was the question one of them said...
  23. I am getting similar FPS to IniBuilds JFK. For me no stutters or issues although it is a very dense area. I am running an overclocked 13900k and a 4090 though. I am very happy with this so far and am pleased to see MK Studios pushing out updates and attempting to optimize the scenery for those struggling with performance.
  24. I've had it a couple of times, I think it's due to lost connection of the servers but I could be wrong
