    Hi, After downloading the last City update, I see that the new elements are very awful. Eg : in Konstanz town, Mainau island or Strasbourg i see a lot of blocs that should be trees or so. The forests seem like before, but the first range of trees is weird. A lot of objects are very awful. I deleted the cache and set the details to ultra but after a week, I have no idea. Has anybody the same problem ? Regards

    If that's what's needed to get vectoring right in a video game in an acceptable amount of time, it kind of proves my point 😉 Also even that brilliant mind would probably have gone the way of "a beautiful mind" if he had to code vectors for 30 AI aircraft simultaneously.

    No matter how good the new weather system of MSFS20924 will be, there will always be aspects that could be added, improved or enhanced by third party developers. I hope MS/Asobo will do themselves and all users the favor to allow third party addons to do that.

    I still use PF3 on every flight, and while it doesn't control AI, I have my AI not swamping the airports with traffic, so it doesn't really bother me. PF3 also is updated at least once a year, sometimes more, and it works well for every flight.

    After the SU7 issues that still persist I'm not holding my breath in what they say, the proof is in the pudding, I want to see it in action and not listen to more hot air.

    Add PF3 to the list. But they also needed years until the vectoring was in the perfect state it is now. Both Radar Contact and PF3 do not control AI traffic of course. This. These newcomers might have bitten off more than they can chew at the moment. You might be positively surprised soon. They have been working on it for a while and they are almost there. Let's wait and see what their next update will bring.

    Well I just did some things as a test: Went into the Device Manager and deleted both of my monitors. Then restarted my machine. Then reinstalled my GPU driver. Now everything is working as it should. Not sure what was going on but at least the above steps resolved it.

    I agree - 2024 is really an unknown quantity. TBH, what scares me is they thought the 2020 weather was fine so other than cinematic clouds and hopefully realistic wind effects it may be different but not necessarily better. Only time will tell. I really like most of what the HS/Asobo team has done but they've also done some strange things too. Like everyone else, I can only wait and see

    It is certainly possible that Orbx does not yet have the latest update. If that is the case, Orbx should be showing 1.1 not 1.3.0

    Speaking of the "digital twin Earth", does anyone remember Microsoft Train Simulator? If MS/Asobo get it right, they can use the baseline MSFS platform for literally anything. There are dozens of "sims" on Steam... Euro Truck Sim and American Truck Sim are pretty huge, but imagine flying FedEx cargo from LAX to ORD, then hopping into an 18-wheeler to pick up the cargo and transport it to a distribution center? Now imagine all the commercial applications for a "digital twin Earth" with a realistic weather and physics outside of transportation simulation. A part of my brain remembers MS having a commercial application from the FSX days that TV stations used for virtual weather forecasts... not sure if that is still a thing, but with increased photogrammetry resolution and the help of AI, they could build the MSFS world into a platform for everything from real estate to government milsims to a full world metaverse that would make Zuckerberg retire.

    Errr, no. Radar Contact v4 had it in 2006 and it still works perfectly now. In P3D of course. And it didn’t take them 10 years. They had the services of a brilliant mathematician who was an expert on trigonometry. Plus AT Controllers from the US and Britain for correct instructions and Pete Dowson too with MakeRwys.

    ?? Working Title spent literally months in developing AAU2, which was primarily aimed at improving the accuracy and performance of the 787 (and 747). That aircraft is in far far better shape today than it was when MSFS first launched thanks to their efforts.

    Maybe Orbx dies not have the new version yet. It is quite a nice update. The new cargo ramps are there now finally, the inside has been fully modeled quite nicely and the performance is finally acceptable.

    On balance, I think the 4070 super ti is a bargain and a good choice. They can be had for $750 which is $300 less than a few months ago. But in general they sell for $790 or so. I don't believe it buying the best. Settle for close to best. 4070 super ti is that.

    Well I'm confused. The FSimStudios website says CYHZ V2 is the latest. I bought FSimStudios CYHZ from Orbx and Orbx Central is saying my installed version is 1.3.0

    Just a short update. Flight1 indeed had a solution for me. Here is what they suggested. And it did work for me.

    Different preferences I guess. It's still only been a week since release, so too early to be 100% definitive about which one I prefer. I'll say this though: so far AS has impressed me; I think overall it generates a much more convincing and realistic cloudscape. So I guess it boils down to: do we want the most realistic cloudscape - or do we want fronts / global weather. I'm leaning towards the former at the moment. Btw just used historical weather for the 2nd time - to make a replay video of a flight I did more than 24hrs ago - that I didn't have time to finish at the time 🙂

    Yea that would be a bit like getting excited about the unprecedented 'fact' that 2024 would include only high quality (whatever the f that is) aircraft when it isnt out yet Oh the Irony
