    I stumbled across a video from ehviator that showed a more modern cockpit (gauges, gps, seats, etc.). Does anyone have any information on this?
  3. Jason, I asked myself the same question when I built my new 9700K system and finally opted for 32GB (2x16) for future proofing. I don't regret it even though I never see all that RAM being used, but I often see up to 15GB in use when running P3D 4.5 in dense sceneries, and since I hate to be running close to the limit, the overhead makes me happy 😉 Best regards,
  4. Times have certainly changed over the years. I didn't join the forums here until 2009, so I'm assuming most people are not familiar with the original Air Kevin livery when the airline was started on July 30th, 2003. The following screenshot was taken some time in 2004. At the time, I was running FS2002, and the graphics at the time weren't really all that great. I have no idea how, but somehow, somewhere, I recently stumbled across this screenshot once again. Fast forward to today, and I'm now running P3D V4 with the latest and greatest....or at least, it was a year ago, anyway. You can see how much better this old livery can look on a much more advanced simulator, even if the livery itself wasn't much. Okay, so maybe I don't actually use that livery anymore and only just recently painted it up just to see how it would look with the latest and greatest. This is the present livery I'm using. With the original design in 2007, there have been three minor changes to this livery to get it to where it is now. This would be the livery that most of you here would have seen.

    Black Screen with PMDG 737 NGX

    This is happening to me for P3Dv4.5. I hadn't used the NGX for a while, Wanted to yesterday, black screen exactly as described by Rimax. Reloaded NGX, but problem remains. All drivers and software up to date. Does not happen with any other aircraft. Any ideas???

    New System Build Advice

    118 lookers and zero help other than Vortex the awesome flying bear above... super! Who needs you guys! I can light money on fire all by myself! 😆 Anyhoo' I've done a bunch of homework over the past few days, putting together various mock builds and such... below is what I settled on, or rather what's on the way: Jason's swing for the fence (ish) new P3D rig: Case: NZXT H500 Black Power Supply: Corsair HX850i, 850W 80+ Platinum Cert'd CPU: I7-9700K (Plan to overclock, not sure how aggressively yet) Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 AIO RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series DDR4 3200, CAS 14 (I really struggled with this decision, I probably only needed 16GB. But future proofing, right? 🤪) GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 Ti (Recently purchased a used one intending to upgrade the GTX 960 in the old rig. Obviously I'm going to run it in the new one until I can sell a kidney and mortgage my house to afford a 2080 someday) OS Drive: SanDisk 480GB Ultra II SSD (reused from previous build) P3D Drive: WD Black SN750 500GB NVMe M.2 2280 SSD Backup & Storage Drive: Seagate BarraCuda 2TB Other: NZXT RGB Exhaust Fans x2, NZXT HUE 2, NZXT GRID+v3 A lot has changed since I last built a PC in 2011! Here's hoping I chose wisely enough to pull off another 7 1/2 years with this build like I did my i7-2600k rig.
  9. So I might be a bit closer to nailing down the issue: I've been at this since 0600 eastern time... I reformatted my main drive (Windows and Prepar3D), and did a full install of Windows 10 letting it install all updates. Next, I installed P3D v4.4.16.27077. The Lorby flashlight worked as soon as I launched P3D! Feeling lucky, I moved to 4.5 and the fun stopped. I'm back to no simconnect.I sure hate to install Windows again??

  11. Thanks for the fast support. I will try this and see if can successfully make one flight with the CRJ. What do you advise for calibrated the mic? I mean which levels are better? other doubt who i can request GSX interaction via voice command? thanks for the support again.

  13. Yes, Daocheng is interesting! I just checked Google Earth and couldn't find it either. Maybe a civil-military dual use thing? Anyway, it's listed as a 3D airport in the X-Plane database, so someone must have added it to the Gateway. But it doesn't have the "flying saucer" terminal building, just some fuel tanks at the end of the runway. An interesting airport to practice high altitude landings and takeoffs. I remember being surprised a few years ago, trying to take off in XP with a DC-3 in one of the airports in the South American Andes range. Reciprocal engines really don't like high altitudes! Especially in Summer, with warmer temps.

  16. Just to update and close the above, I have been able to get the GTN750 vertical guidance to work as expected in GPS mode with LinkVOR False for the Flysimware Lear35 and Falcon50 aircraft. The general approach was to use HSI variables (e.g., HSI GSI NEEDLE instead of NAV GSI, etc) when the GTN is in GPS mode. Al

  19. Mendoza to Valparaíso (Aconcagua Challenge) We depart Mendoza (SAME) and head southwest to the Mendoza River. Following the river valley northwest and then southwest again into the main range of the Andes. Climb, gaining as much altitude as possible before the turn point at Rio Des los Horcones where we change heading north to the Aconcagua Massif. Follow the waypoints to circumnavigate the peak before heading southwest and resuming our leg to Santiago. Departing Santiago we will fly east over the city’s commercial center turning at the Gran Torre Santiago (Great Santiago Tower), the tallest skyscraper in South America. The remainder of the route features the excellent freeware costal scenery by Orlando Veas and enhanced airports (links below). We will finish at Vina del Mar Airport (SVCM). Aircraft Recommendations: I recommend that we fly the excellent Manfred/Visser C-47 V3 freeware. Ron has provided us with many South American liveries which will make for a colorful flight. It will also be a challenge to climb over the Andes and circumnavigate Aconcagua. (I had thought of trying this flight with the A2A Cessna 182 but found that hypoxia got me before I achieved the necessary altitude). I will be flying El Venado (with some extra oxygen bottles). Scenery Recommendations Orbx South American Landclass LATINVFR - SANTIAGO SCEL V2 P3DV4 (Optional Payware) Surroundings extremely detailed, downtown Santiago buildings. Photo scenery coverage includes airport vicinity and nearby mountains. Extremely detailed terrain mesh for the region of Santiago, and nearby Andes mountains for highly detailed approach immersion. I will be using this scenery, however there is a freeware option listed below.     NOTAM about orbx airports

    UPDATE: I got lucky with the first two airports I had purchased and I guess I wanted to continue the winning streak so I proceeded to purchase KBVS. Turns out this airport has severe issues without its associated region. So if anyone is looking to take advantage of the sale and purchase KBVS, make sure you also purchase the region. Don’t make the mistake I just did 😅. The good news is the sale prevents the blow from hurting as much as it would if it were retail price so I honestly can’t be too mad lol.
  21. I dont think this is an LM problem... I tested it with P3D from V3 to V4.5+HF...at the moment I have a clean install of V4.5+hf and no add ons. Jorge

Be aware a trained speech profile is tied to a specific headset, user voice and PC ambient noise conditions. having switched headset, go to Windows Control Panel, speech recognition panel and create a brand new speech profile (name it after the current headset). Once it's listed, select it to make it active. Calibrate the mike and train the new speech profile from scratch using our training tool. Start->All Apps->Multi Crew Experience->Speech training. No need to overdo training. One session per topic should be enough. MCE is very different from Fs2crew. It's a fully interactive crew simulation that makes no assumption as to what you want Fo to do. Tens of thousands of speech commands are available at any given time to give you the initiative and get Fo to help you perform what you want, when you want, and even using custom speech if you wanted (that includes teaching Fo to understand non-English talk). It's not a scripted adventure that goes like.... Start in cold and dark and don't do or say anything until some event happens At minute M1, all commands are disabled and only this specific command (as per manual) is allowed (with 100% recognition rate guaranteed, even if you farted 😛) that command being the only one the system expects. But ask Fo anything else and he'll be dumb as a rock. You then are in the "Pavlov dog experiment" (no pun intended) Read this article You get trained to fit into a script. At FS++, we aim to get as close as possible to "shared cockpit" so that people who can't find someone to fly with can do so with a highly trained virtual first officer. And you call the shots. No timer in the background dictating your behavior. Once your new headset is setup on a new speech profile, you should be back to normal.
